* GlowingMechanicalEyes: The XAG suits tend to have these.

* KnightInSourArmor: Lamar was by far the most pessimistic of the kids even before things [[GoneHorriblyWrong fell apart]].

* NewhartPhoneCall: K.A. walks in on her dad having a rather tense phone conversation with the government about the kid’s armor and weapons. We only see his side of it, but the implications are still clear.

* OurSoulsAreDifferent: K.A. and Mela have a discussion about what exactly a soul entails.
* PainfulTransformation: K.A. gets a biological upgrade to make her more efficient. It’s…[[http://wyrecats.thecomicseries.com/comics/44 not pleasant.]]

to:

*RoaringRampageOfRevenge: [[AvertedTrope Averted]]. K.A. sets out with this in mind, but settles down en route and instead has a somewhat different breakdown.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Dealing with Mela turns out to be a little harder than anticipated and this mook decides there’s only [[http://wyrecats.thecomicseries.com/comics/35 one appropriate response]].

* AssistiveTechnology: Some of the features of the XAG armor works this way, but Lamarr has a more mundane version of this in his speechbot, which allows the otherwise mute boy to communicate.
* BreakTheCutie: A lot of the characters were much more idealistic in the flashbacks.
*TheCameo: [[RecurringCharacter Jens]] aside, the other cast of ''Webcomic/RubyNation'' gets a brief appearance.
* CloudCuckoolander: Mela is delightfully odd.
* CreatorThumbprint: Many themes present in the author's previous works are here as well. This includes AnimalMotifs, deconstruction of the superhero genre, Idealism vs. Cynicism, characters with disabilities, and plenty of cats.
*CuteKitten: The kids have a lot of cats in their workshop. Mr. Percival isn't terribly fond of them, but the kids enjoy having them around.

Added DiffLines:

* HeroDoesPublicService: Despite their idealistic pursuits turning out less-than-stellar, the Wyrecats try to do some good in the world by varying methods.
*InterruptedSuicide: K.A. saves Erica from jumping off a bridge. The two later become friends.

Added DiffLines:

* NoodleImplements: The things Mela can imagine being used as a deadly weapon must be [[http://wyrecats.thecomicseries.com/comics/22 seen to be believed]].

* ShoutOut: K.A. and Erica are both fans of ''Series/Doctor Who''. The comic also has a few references to some indie webcomics.
*SpecificallySuspiciousDenial: While discussing the possibility of storing a soul as an AI, Mela is very quick to insist that she has '''not''' been using mammal brains to test her theory.
*SpiritualSuccessor: K.A. is a lot of like Ruby, the protagonist of the creator's previous comic. On a larger scale, this comic appears to be a spiritual successor to ''Webcomic/RubyNation'' as a whole and takes place in the same universe.
WideEyedIdealist: What the characters used to be. And what the story is trying its [[TraumaCongaLine darndest]] to kick out of them.
*YouCantGoHomeAgain: As much as she wishes it, the world really isn't the same place K.A. used to know.

->The armor keeps me steady The head sees my future The legs move me forward The arms build my world The spirit shares my future Because we are ALL Wyrecats!

Technology has become a battleground. The armory of humanity has traded an arsenal of guns and drones for advanced one-man combat equipment known as XAG (eXoskeletal Augmentation Gear) armor. In the midst of this unstable world, a team of young, idealistic special needs students decides to join the fray with their own custom XAG armor in hopes of using their skills and superior technology to calm the advancing storm.

Five years later, things have only gotten worse and there’s so much lost time to make up for.

[[http://wyrecats.thecomicseries.com/comics/ We Are The Wyrecats]] is the spiritual successor to ''Webcomic/RubyNation'' and takes place in the future of the same universe.

!!Examples of tropes in this webcomic:
----
*AltText
*AnachronicOrder: The comic opens with the main character waking up from [[spoiler: a five-year coma]] with plenty of past events waiting to be fleshed out.
*DeadpanSnarker: K.A.’s father has a rather acerbic tongue on him.
*HandicappedBadass: All of the members of the Wyrecats have some sort of mental or physical disability. They also possessed—and in fact developed--some seriously tough PoweredArmor and did their level best to stand up to a global arms race.
*KidHero: The Wyrecats is a team of high-schoolers. [[spoiler: Or, at least, they were. The comic is quickly moving toward deconstructing this trope right from the get-go]].
*{{Nanomachines}}: One of the prevalent technologies of the setting. It’s also a nod to the fact this this is the same universe RubyNation takes place in.
*PoweredArmor: XAG armor is precisely this.
