''[[http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=5533 Two Evil Scientists]]'' is a [[WebcomicsLongRunners long-running sprite comic]] that has been updated since 2004 and has enjoyed a somewhat more than modest fanfare. Initially starting out on keenspace (now comicgenesis) the comic was moved to smackjeeves where it became one of the longest running comics on the site. The comic takes a [[IntercontinuityCrossover somewhat lighthearted idea]] and makes it work; pitting together the characters from both the ''VideoGame/MegaMan'' series and the ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog'' series. Rather than solely focusing on the exploits of the heroes of these series however, the comic, as its title implies, has a heavier focus on the two main villains (Dr. Albert Wily and Dr. Ivo Robotnik) from these series. The author makes use of the many similarities between these series to make for an interesting comic.

Years after ''Two Evil Scientists'' was created (not to mention after suffering its ScheduleSlip), Capcom, Sega, and Archie Comics would create an official crossover between their flagship franchises with ''ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogMegaManWorldsCollide''. As far as we know, none of them are aware of ''TES'', but it nonetheless features some striking similarities.

-->-Two Evil Scientist Villains Victorious, Pt 1 (first comic strip)

[[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/ Two Evil Scientists]] is a [[WebcomicsLongRunners long-running sprite comic]] that has been updated since 2004 and has enjoyed a somewhat more than modest fanfare. Initially starting out on keenspace (now comicgenesis) the comic was moved to smackjeeves where it became one of the longest running comics on the site. The comic takes a [[IntercontinuityCrossover somewhat lighthearted idea]] and makes it work; pitting together the characters from both the ''VideoGame/MegaMan'' series and the ''SonicTheHedgehog'' series.

The series is currently on an extended hiatus.
----
Includes examples of:
* AchievementsInIgnorance: Ashura is able to run on the air simply by not looking down!
* ADayInTheLimelight: Most Characters have at least two storylines devoted to them
* AffablyEvil: Both of the [[ConquerorFromTheFuture conquerors from the future]]. Which one is more affable depends on who you ask.
* AGodAmI: I'm pretty sure many of the villains felt this way. Particularly [[spoiler:the commander on the ark]], [[spoiler:Doppelganger]], and [[spoiler:Gemerl after being exposed to the super emeralds]].
* AlternateTimeline: With a twist. Two super villains from alternate timelines are competing to make their timelines a reality.
** Also Quint and the Time Skimmer.
* ArtEvolution: A minor example with [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/523101/the-fight-for-light-pt-1/ this comic]], which starts the use of new, more smooth speech bubbles.
* ArchiveBinge: As of the extended hiatus, there are: 1993 pages in the main comic, 82 in Out of Continuity, 334 in the Lost Chapters, and 363 for the spin-off Chrono Crossover. [[hottip:*: That's 2772 pages]] Happy reading.
** There's also 137 pages for the semi spin-off Mega Girl.
* AscendedGlitch: Ashura, who is based off a glitch in ''SonicTheHedgehog 2'' that turned Sonic green and black.
** He also [[spoiler: [[KillAndReplace wants to replace Sonic]] ]] in the beginning.
* AWizardDidIt: [[http://2estlc.smackjeeves.com/comics/381906/2es-v2-0-45/ Seen here]].
* {{Badass}}: Bass and Shadow's fused form, appropriately named Badass.
* BackFromTheDead: Mega Man And Sonic... twice.
* BaitAndSwitchBoss: [[spoiler:Omachao replacing King]].
* BigCreepyCrawlies: Buzz's girlfriend [[{{Pokemon}} Beedra]]. Most characters react accordingly when they see her.
* BigLittleBrother: Bass to Cream.
* BrainBleach: Dr. Light in the shower.
** [[spoiler:Or the fact that he built a fully functioning artificial penis for VideoGame/MegaManX before he even finished the designs for his other systems. Did I mention that he keeps it in his pocket?]] Yeah, there's a reason he's a mad scientist.
* BreakTheCutie: [[spoiler:Bass does this to Cream when she finds out he is, in fact, evil.]]
* BrickJoke: The Big/Auto fusion.
* BSideComics: The author, MC Ryan's [[http://megagirl.smackjeeves.com/ Mega Girl]] (on hiatus, or dead) and [[http://chronocrossover.smackjeeves.com/ Chrono Crossover]] (now ended) feature characters that have at one point appeared in the main comic but use storylines far different from the main comic.
* CameBackWrong: [[spoiler:Bass, likely as a Type 2. It later turns out that this was part of Robot Wily and Egg Robo's GambitRoulette]]
* CastCalculus: Characters that tend to fit the same roles in both series are ''always'' paired together: Mega Man/Sonic, Shadow/Bass, Amy/Roll...
** Of course, sometimes it's rather hard to pull this off. The closest thing to Rouge is ''Treble''.
* CerebusSyndrome
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: Nack the Weasel, who continues this behavior in a side story SpinOff, [[http://chronocrossover.smackjeeves.com/ Chrono Crossover]], which has ended.
* ConquerorFromTheFuture: There's two of them, and they are competing against each other from separate timelines.
* ContinuityNod: Many.
* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/391321/double-trouble-pt-48/ Doppelganger is an entire army]].
* CrowningMomentOfFunny: [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/485578/back-in-black-pt-4/ Bass's method of dealing with G.U.N.]]
* DeathIsASlapOnTheWrist: You could count the number of characters that have been KilledOffForReal on one hand. More often than not, the characters that die are robots, so they'll just be rebuilt if they get killed.
* DeathIsCheap: If you call [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/52802/lost-in-limbo-pt-11/ $20]] cheap.
* [[DontExplainTheJoke Don't Explain the Joke]]: Ryan frequently invokes and [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] this when commenting on the comics.
* DoubleEntendre: [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/52813/robot-master-chaos-pt-6/ Amy is prepping Roll for her first time in battle, and it sounds like she's talking about the first time she got laid]]. Just for an added joke, Roll's first opponent? Plant Man (vines and all.)
* EvenEvilHasStandards: The titular scientists once used their robots to save orphans form a burning building. Why? Because they're evil, not heartless!
* EvilDuo: The Two Evil Scientists themselves... obviously.
** More recently, [[spoiler:Wily with Eggman Nega]] and [[spoiler:Eggman with Weil.]] And then there's Metal Sonic and Yellow Devil, [[spoiler:Metal Sonic and The Copy Robot]], and likely [[spoiler:Robot Wily and Egg Robo]]
* ExplosiveLeash: Eggman has a tendency to install bombs in the heads of his robots to make sure that they don't rebel.
* FanPreferredCouple: Blaze/Zero. About half the pages that they appear have comments that they should hook up.
* FillerStrips: Never in the main comic, but it has entire other comics devoted to doing that.
** Before the Out of Continuity comic, a few of the filler series, namely the [[ChristmasEpisode two Christmas ones]], were in the main comic and were later moved there.
* FunWithAcronyms: After a long hiatus, [[http://2esooc.smackjeeves.com/comics/715982/2es-rip/ this]].
* FurryComic: Technically, since it's a half Sonic comic, so this is a given.
* FusionDance: Merged forms, consisting of a Sonic character and their closest counterpart from the Mega Man series. The list is as follows:
** Mega Hedgehog (Sonic and Mega Man)
** Proto Echidna (Knuckles and Proto Man)
** Turbo (Tails and Rush)
** Badass (Shadow and Bass)
** Trouble (Rouge and Treble)
** Metal Devil (Metal Sonic and Yellow Devil)
** Glitch (Ashura and Quint)
** Rosy (Amy and Roll)
** Rabbot (Cream and Tango)
** Doppelganger (Metal Sonic and [[spoiler: The Copy Robot]])
** Cadillac (Big and Auto)
** Hip Hop (Froggy and Eddie)
* GambitPileup: A result of having LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters. Usually, either one of the scientists will turn on the other, or [[strike:one]] several of {{The Dragon}}s will turn on them.
* GoodAngelBadAngel: [[spoiler:Emerl]] and [[spoiler:Maria Robotnik]] for Gemerl [[spoiler:while inside his MentalWorld.]]
* GrowingTheBeard: It starts out fairly decent, but the quality starts going up after the first few arcs and never stops.
* HoYay: Joe and Buzz, one sided.
* IntercontinuityCrossover
* InterspeciesRomance: Dr Light (and later Dr Wily) with Vanilla.
* InTheBlood: [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/510523/the-ties-that-bind-pt-22/ Seen Here]] with Cream and her father [[spoiler:Dr Wily]].
* [[IThinkYouBrokeHim I Think You Broke Her]]: When Knuckles steals all of Rouge's jewels.
* KamehameHadoken: While not used, it references one of the trope namers while using the other [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/98485/sonic-x-pt-65/ here]].
* KnightTemplarBigBrother: Bass has made it quite clear that if anyone wrongs his sister, they will suffer... slowly.
* LampshadeHanging: Knuckles and Proto Man sum it up pretty nicely [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/55023/marias-emerald-pt-2/ after they find]] [[PlotCoupon the Chaos Emerald Shadow was looking for]]:
--> '''Proto Man''': "And we just happened to find [a Chaos Emerald] on your little treasure hunt?"
--> '''Knuckles''': "Stranger things have happened!"
--> '''Proto Man''': "A lot of it has happened recently too."
* LesYay: Invoked [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/781145/gizoid-pt-2/ here]].
* LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters: From both the Mega Man and Sonic Series.
* {{Lolcats}}: Tango falls in love with Blaze. He wants to be able to communicate with her, so he has Auto reprogram him, leading to [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/889585/unhealthy-competition-pt-10/ this]].
* LoveTriangle: For a while, there was one with Amy, Mega Man, and Sonic. [[spoiler:Quint's first role in the story was an attempt to remove Sonic from the equation, leaving nothing in between Amy and Mega Man]].
* MadScientist: In the current time alone, there's 5: Dr. Light, Dr. Wily, Dr. Eggman, Dr. Cossack, and Tails. Out of all of them, Dr. Light is the most disturbing.
* MassiveMultiplayerCrossover: Mostly done for kicks, but several of the comics imply that not only have Sonic and Mega Man been inhabiting the same world/universe, but {{Pokemon}}, [[{{Metroid}} Samus]], and even [[ComicBooks other heroes]] inhabit the same world... the main focus, though, is always on the Sonic and Mega Man characters. [[BetterThanItSounds Yeah...]]
* MeanwhileInTheFuture: While Sonic and Mega Man are trapped in the future and past respectively, it keeps jumping back between them.
* MundaneUtility: The titular scientists used two of their shapeshifting robots to pose as Amy and Roll and babysit for [[spoiler:Wily's daughter Cream.]] This bites them in the ass later on when the two robots decide to betray them partly because of being used mundanely.
* MurderTheHypotenuse: Well, send the hypotenuse to the future. Same thing, really.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: [[spoiler:Mega Hedgehog destroys the Master Emerald, the only thing powering Doppelganger's massive army. Too bad it was also the only thing preventing the Death Egg from crashing into the populated city below it.]]
* TheNotSecret: It's difficult for Mega Man to hide his identity from the rest of the cast.
* OhCrap: [[spoiler:Robot]] Dr. Wily gets a fantastic one right after [[spoiler:[[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/885454/the-ties-that-bind-pt-90/ he brings Bass back to life.]] ]]
* OneManArmy: [[spoiler:Doppelganger is a rather literal example, if he has enough power.]]
* PlotCoupon: [[MineralMacGuffin The Chaos Emeralds]], and recently the Sol Emeralds.
* PlotHole: Used as a Plot Device [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/52803/lost-in-limbo-pt-12/ here]].
** The character Ashura is a living one.
* RidiculouslyHumanRobots: X was made to be able to duplicate all human functions. [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/60123/the-proper-equipment-pt-9/ All]] [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/60327/the-proper-equipment-pt-10/ of them]].
* ReliableTraitor: Nack the Weasel.
* RightBehindMe: Played with many times.
* {{Robosexual}}: Kalinka and Beedra, who love Gemerl and Buzz respectively.
* RunningGag: Mega Man's ego (or lack thereof).
* ScheduleSlip: An entirely new comic was devoted towards this called [[http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=61287/ Waiting for Ryan]].
* SelfMadeOrphan: Bass discusses it.
--> '''Bass''' :[[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/886143/the-ties-that-bind-pt-91/ '''Patricide is a long standing tradition in video games.''']]
* ShootTheHostage: [[AntiHero Quint]] scores a [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/913803/emerald-issues-pt-39/ double hit]].
* SpriteComic
* {{Squick}}: [[spoiler:Vanilla and Wily]] used to have a relationship, serious enough to result in a kid.
* SuperMode: With the Chaos Emeralds.
* TemptingFate: Done on a regular basis.
* TheSlowPath: How [[spoiler:Mega Man]] got to the future.
* UnrequitedLoveSwitcheroo: Amy and Mega Man.
* UnspokenPlanGuarantee: Lampshaded and Justified in [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/379445/double-trouble-pt-39/ this]] strip. (Warning: Spoilers!)
* VillainsOutShopping: Eggman has his own restaurant for a while.
* VillainProtagonist: Eggman and Wily, the titular "Two Evil Scientists."
* WebcomicTime: Played with occasionally.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: [[spoiler:Dr. Weil]] sees himself as this. [[CompleteMonster This is inaccurate.]]
* [[WontTakeYesForAnAnswer Won't Take Yes for an Answer]]: Wily, when he [[spoiler:proposes to Vanilla]].
* WouldHitAGirl: Ashura.
* [[YouAndWhatArmy You and What Army?]] {{Lampshaded}} by Joe.
* YouCalledMeXItMustBeSerious: Dr Wily knows that Bass wants something because [[http://twoevilscientists.smackjeeves.com/comics/60118/the-proper-equipment-pt-6/ Bass called him dad]].
