* {{Determinator}}: Worthrod Thamas is an ''extremely'' petty example of this, in his efforts to take {{Revenge}} on Lloyd for his misfortunes (actually just him suffering the consequences of his actions). He starts out being tied to a tree and impaled in the gut by his own father, left to die alone in the woods, only for his innate magical talent and [[ThePowerOfHate boiling hatred]] of Lloyd to enable him to survive and cut himself loose. This hatred combined with his own magic apparently enabled him to learn/invent BloodMagic all by himself, a magic style that's unfamiliar in Magentano and commented on by even high-ranking experts like Javier to be strange, purely to use it to take payback on Lloyd. His first attempt to attack him in a back-alley has Lloyd easily turn the tables on him and give him a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown, only for him to keep using the blood from his injuries to fight back no matter how mangled he gets. Javier appearing and cutting off his arm and leg to incapacitate him just has him immediately biting down on his own severed arm so he can use the magic dagger still clutched in its grip as a medium to escape through, fashioning crude prosthetics in the aftermath to keep wielding the dagger against Lloyd. His infiltrates the high-security construction underneath the royal palace for a second attempt, managing to cut Lloyd despite Javier's presence and all the guards in order to [[TheCorruption use the dagger to bring out his innate darkness]]. Whilst that [[NoSell fails]], he nonetheless survives the ensuring chaos turning him into a HumanPopsicle, only for Alica to step in in the aftermath and make damn sure he's dead -- personally burning him at the stake whilst chaining him down, and even then she comments that he resisted for a ''very'' long time before eventually turning to ashes.

* EvilIsPetty: Worthrod Thamas, the topmost student of the royal academy, took umbrage with Julian's natural academic brilliance showing him up, and so gave permission for his group of followers to make his life hell around the academy, stating that he only wanted to see him around if he was crippled (threatening his subordinates if he appeared to be fine) and thus contributed the most to [[BullyMagnet Julian's academic life becoming hell]]. When this (and his father's own corrupt activities) lead to their family getting stripped of all titles and privileges thanks to Lloyd rooting out the corruption in the academy, his father blamed him and left him impaled on a tree to die in the woods as a disgrace to the family name. However, Worthrod's innate talent with magic enabled him to survive his injury -- apparently becoming powerful enough to live solely through ThePowerOfHate -- and he swore {{Revenge}} on Lloyd for his misfortunes, ignoring how ''he'' [[LaserGuidedKarma caused everything he reaped]]. What further emphasises this is that Worthrod's main attempt to destroy Lloyd isn't killing him, but cutting him with a magical dagger that will will curse him to [[WhatYouAreInTheDark face his true nature]] -- amplifying any [[TheCorruption innate darkness within him until it consumes him]] into becoming a FallenHero, making it clear Worthrod can't stand the idea of Lloyd being "[[EvilCannotComprehendGood better]]" than him and wanting to prove the public perception of him wrong.....which is [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor what actually happens]], as Lloyd manages to NoSell the curse because [[HeroicComedicSociopath he never actually hides any of his innate darker traits]].
-->'''Worthrod:''' Someone like you is respected by others?! Don't be ridiculous! Fall into depravity and go berserk! Destroy everything! Reveal your true colours!! Be cursed by the whole world!!!

** Amongst the reasons Javier gets suspicious of Lloyd's identity early on is that, witnessing his duel with Sir Neumann, he can tell that Lloyd's BayonetYa techniques utilised through his shovel aren't improvised but effective fighting skills utilised by a rank amateur through ConfusionFu with an unusual weapon, but long-trained skills honed through extensive repetition -- far more than Lloyd should be capable of doing, as he just recently learned sword-fighting basics under Javier's direction for a month, and was understandably unskilled as a novice should be. Even if it's in a different form that's unpracticed in a different world, a well-trained martial arts enthusiast like Javier can recognise a proper fighting technique when they see one.
