* AnAesop: ''Very'' hard to parse out, considering the story's deliberately self-contradicting nature, but it seems to lean in the direction of violence, even in a universe that's already as violent as this one, only breeds further violence.
** Violence is a necessary factor of life on all levels of reality, from animals hunting their prey to rival kingseekers murdering each other for the chance to obtain the throne. Thus, violence is an extremely effective way to get what you want, but what will you do when you encounter someone who is even stronger than you might be? Worse, what will you do when you encounter someone who isn't even on the same ''level'' as you in terms of strength- is it worth closing the gap to become as a strong as them, or is there a different way to solve your problems? [[spoiler: The implication that Zoss failed hundreds of times in his enforced time loop before he decided to pass his key on to Allison is rooted in this aesop, since Zoss states that the primary reason he passed his key on was to give it to someone with a fresh perspective. Zoss could defeat any single threat that existed in a ''fight'' -- but his goals were things like "a stable succession" and "a utopian empire", and the social problems of his rule weren't things that could be solved by violence. Handing it over to someone who thought the same way didn't do any good either, so when he accidentally gave it to someone like Allison, whose natural good-hearted nature and simple right-and-wrong morality gave her enough strength to amass an entourage of loyal friends and spur the demiurges into battle, he took it as a stroke of luck.]]
** The teachings of Yisun, which on a superficial reading actively promote unrestrained violence, ignorance, and ambition, [[spoiler: are shown to be just as effective in promoting a philosophy of [[TheAntiNihilist Anti-Nihilism]] and self improvement.]]

* BleachedUnderpants: Tom Bloom used to still work as a fetish artist around the time he started the webcomic. The bleaching wasn't complete, and if one is familiar with his fetish work, it ''still'' tends to subtly bleed over.
