* PoorCommunicationKills: Dongtae didn't tell Eunju that he's a Dicer, responsible for the dice appearing in the school, and that he will be rewarded for protecting he couldn't hide it. Despite saving her from the school gang, she becomes mad at him the next day.

** [[spoiler:Doesn't get much better for the main cast. Eunju still believes in Taebin even though he himself has stated that he cannot keep control of his own body for long and Mooyoung is more than willing to kill her for her bounty. But worst off is Mio. Despite knowing explicitly that X was doing his best to screw with their feelings, she takes his bait and thinks Dongtae chose Eunju over her (the reality was that he chose Eunju to lose her dice knowing that Mio needed hers and Eunju preferred that anyway). Not helping was after Dongtae wakes up, him immediately going out to find Eunju, understandably so since she could've been heavily damaged by the fight with X. Thus, while she does still love Dongtae, she breaks up with him and acts cold on the outside both to keep him safe, but also as a bit of payback. But if she took him at his word to begin with, they would've never been separated and the subterfuge would be unnecessary.]]

** Happens with Mio once she [[spoiler: gains the A-rank ability Clarivoyance,]] everytime she sees her own reflection, it shows how she looked before using the dice.

* OnlySaneMan: Of the dicers, [[spoiler:Dongtae]] is this. He remains the only [[spoiler:moral]] dicer, even as everyone else becomes [[spoiler:arrogant and/or apathetic]].

* TheRival: Taebin becomes one for Dongtae as story progresses, especially after he starts dating Dongtae's crush. Dongtae's main motivation is to improve himself and overcome Taebin.

* SuddenGameInterface: It's apparent from one of the sequences that all souls in this world roll for their permanent stats before starting a new life, but forget everything on being born. Rolling one of the Dice is all it takes to [[BrokenMasquerade break the Masquerade]]. Dongtae's poor life until this point is explained by his stats all being ones.

* SuperStrength: [[spoiler: Byungchul]] managed to gain this by increasing 'strength' attributes and focusing all of the power into his left hand, allowing him to deliver devastating punches. Overusing it, however, causes large veins to appear all over his arm, temporarily making his arm disabled and it causes great pain.
* TeensAreMonsters: This webtoon shows the length other students are willing to go to obtain the dice, which range from bullying to potentially killing each other. One splinter group of students even ends up luring their classmates into their service with promises of dice, only if they take loyalty oaths and serve them as virtual slaves.

** Dongtae was this at the start of the story - beaten, abused by his classmates and having his crush fall for his [[TheRival rival]]. However, as time passes and he continues to use the dice, he manages to move from this territory and become strong enough to shake off all his bullying.
** Byungchul as well. While he used to live a rather peaceful life with the bullies preferring to torture Dongtae, that all changes as Dongtae becomes stronger.
* UniquenessValue: Why Taebin doesn't like the idea of there being more Dicers. [[spoiler:Subverted when it is revealed that having more Dicers will eventually draw Mooyoung to him and initiate a bloody [=PvP=] session, one of which already traumatized Taebin in the past. Prior to Mooyoung's betrayal, however, he was all for spreading the dice around in order to help people.]]

* SuperEmpowering: The effect the dice have on normal people, allowing them to boost many of their attributes such as those for strength, endurance, agility or physical attractiveness, even granting to the ability to see in darkness. There are special golden dice that grant people different, much greater powers, such as [[spoiler: Dongtae's TimeStandsStill]], which was given as a reward for completing one of X's special quests.

* TimeStandsStill: Time Pause, one of the A-ranker abilities. [[spoiler: Dongtae]] gains this power after he passed one of X's hidden quests involving the protection of [[spoiler: Eunju]] from other students.

%% * NotSoDifferent: Taebin and Dongtae.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Eunju loved to jump rope over this trope. It's clear that she's a very kind girl who only wants things to go back to some semblance of normal after the Dice basically sent everything into absolute chaos. However she not only fails to take into account those who had absolutely terrible lives prior to the Dice, like Dongtae, but also goes way off the deep end in her attempt to end the conflict once she obtains her own Dice. It took the writers quite some time to write their way out of Eunju being one of the most hated characters in the webtoon.
** Jieun, good god Jieun. It's very easy to be sympathetic to the poor girl and the absolutely horrific, and relatable, situation she finds herself in when we meet her. On top of that she has a quite interesting dynamic with Dongtae, which is nice as she's the only recurring female character in the webtoon to not have any romantic possibility with him. But she proceeds to spend the majority of her visible time being an UngratefulBastard and backstabbing the protagonists at nearly every possible opportunity in order to obtain the Final Die for herself. Unlike Eunju who gets some much needed CharacterRerailment in the latter stages of the webtoon, Jieun acts this way up until the very end of the series. Some fans were NOT happy that she becomes a potential KarmaHoudini for all the hell she put the cast through.

* AbusiveParents: Byungchul's parents seem to be this.
** The boy shown in the first chapter has been beaten and abused by his own drunken father. Chapter 109 confirms what many fans suspected: That said boy [[spoiler: is X, the original discoverer of the dice]].
* ActionGirl: [[spoiler: Mio once she levels up her Clairvoyance ability. Eunju also becomes one, and extremely quickly becomes a very vicious Dicer.]]

* AmbiguouslyEvil: "X". He is always cheerful to everyone he speaks to and never raises his voice nor gets angry, only slightly annoyed at best... And he even gave Dongtae a special quest to save Eunju from other students. However he's also the one that made the original quest that got Eunju in trouble in the first place. And it's also implied that the true reason [[spoiler: Byungchul died]] was because he succeeded in his attempt to hack the game, and "X" as a "GameMaster" [[spoiler: removed him]].
** As a "GameMaster" it's likely that his main desire is to keep the game running at any price while making it more interesting.

* ButtMonkey: Dongtae was one at the start of the story, once he becomes a Dicer he starts improving himself and things start to change for him.
** [[spoiler: Byungchul]] too, and Dongtae gave him a dice hoping it would help him, just like it helped him. However,[[spoiler: it only gets [[FromBadToWorse worse...]]]]
** [[spoiler: Dongtae becomes one again after his fight with X. With no more Dice he's back to his original form and has very little to no ability to actually defend himself. Everyone is out to kill him due to a bounty placed, he still can't find Eunju, the one new ally he had made decides to abandon him, and Mio breaks up with him (and he's unaware of her true reasoning for doing so). Dongtae Is Suffering.]]
