The comic first started on June 4, 2011, and finished on June 27, 2014.

Originally, the comic only followed Crystal's journey, and tied in to a separate Nuzlocke run, ''Lads Nuzlocke'', that followed Gold. Due to [=BinLads=], the author of ''Lads Nuzlocke'', being unable to continue, the two comics were combined into the ''Crystal Double Nuzlocke'', drawn solely by miizj with input from [=BinLads=].
