Super Beard Bros initially started out solely as a spin-off series from WebVideo/TheCompletionist, but has since, after overcoming several hurdles, grown to become its own independent show on That One Video Gamer.

The show started in November of 2012, as "a journalistic approach to Let's Plays", and featured Jirard Khalil and Alex Faciane from WebVideo/TheCompletionist. Greg Wilmot eventually joined the team and the show was renamed "Super Beard Bros. DELUXE". However, the show was cancelled in 2013 after ten different series VideoGame/Sonic3AndKnuckles, VideoGame/WildArms, VideoGame/StarFox64, VideoGame/SuperMarioLand2SixGoldenCoins, VideoGame/SuperMarioRPG, VideoGame/SuperMetroid, VideoGame/MegaManX, VideoGame/CastlevaniaSymphonyOfTheNight, VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountry1 and VideoGame/TinyBrains, and finished up its run in 2014 after completing the games they were currently on and doing a Completionist episode on each one.

Due to his growing responsibilities to his own channel and Creator/G4TV, Jirard only makes appearances on Eff It, with Alex and Brett doing the majority of the standard videos, including Super Beard Bowl. Once G4 ended, Jirard returned to the series in 2023, starting with a LetsPlay of VideoGame/DonkeyKongTropicalFreeze.

The show now consists of different mini-shows looking at certain aspects of gamingFor example, "Super Merch Bros.", where they examine rare merchandise for a certain franchise, "Super Fear'd Bros.", where they look at and play a horror game, "Super Remix Bros.", where they interview a remix artist and play games he or she has worked on, "New Super Beard Bros", where they play a newly-released game, "Super Weird Bros.", where they play a strange and unusual game (currently being used for a playthrough of Kaizo Mario), "Super Trivia Bros.", where Jirard races Alex to the end of a game's first level while Alex tries to research trivia for said game, "Super Retro Bros.", where Jirard plays a retro game like E.T. for the Creator/Atari, "Super Coin-Op Bros.", where the brothers play an arcade game, and many, many more. An episode of one of these series is released every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

** During Alex's attempt to settle the score with the Orphan of Kos for Super Beard Bowl, he pretty much exclusively relied on the charged R2 SpinAttack of the transformed Hunter Axe. A GameBreaker for the majority of the game. Not so much during this fight. There were many moments where Alex missed out on a BackStab purely because the spin attack hits twice. The first hit would put the Orphan into the stunned state where backstabbing him is possible, and the second hit would immediately knock him right back out.
