Cody explains, however, that just as attempts to destroy democracies can bleed between different countries, so to can attempts to strengthen them, citing the Scottish government's passing of a law that made period products free in 2020 directly influencing a California State law that did the same thing for schools in 2022. The reverse has also been true, with Roe v. Wade in America having influenced Ireland to make abortion available in 2018.
