Minecraft From the Mob’s Perspective is a series of [=YouTube=] Minecraft shorts created by Jackson Field. The series is unique in that every character and the entire production is all done by himself, even the fight scenes.

It follows the day in the life of Barry existing peacefully as a Minecraft zombie until the arrival of "The Man in the Blue Shirt" known only as "Steve" who permanently kills his buddy, Gary, and puts the rest of the mobs' lives in jeopardy with his sinister plans. Together with astronaut-obsessed Sheldon the Skeleton and the silent yet reliable Edgar the Enderman, it’s up to Gary and gang to defeat this diamond-wearing menace once and for all.

* TheGhost: The Ender Dragon is never shown on camera despite Steve reaching the End and defeating it. Perhaps it would have been too ridiculous looking to take seriously even for this series.

!!Hi, I'm Index and I’m the following tropes:
* ADogNamedDog: All Blazes are named "Blaze" since every Blaze shared a like-minded chill dude-bro personality and came to the same conclusion. However, this is downplayed as Blaze is a legitimate human name.
--> '''Blaze:''' Sup, my name's Blaze and well, I'm a Blaze. People ask me all the time, Blaze why would you call yourself Blaze? After all, you yourself are a Blaze and to that I say, "Dude, try and think of a better name than Blaze then get back to me."
-->[Later On]
-->'''Another Blaze:''' The Man in the Blue Shirt he… killed Blaze for his rods.
-->'''Sheldon:''' Aren't you Blaze?
-->'''Another Blaze: ''' We’re all Blaze. It's a Blaze thing you wouldn’t understand.
* AlliterativeName: More often than not, mobs will have names that begin with the same letter as their corresponding species.[[note]]Sheldon the Skeleton, Edgar the Enderman, Paul and Pig-Lin The Piglin(s), Blaze the Blaze, Charlie the Creeper, Willy the Wither Skeleton and Seb the Silverfish[[/note]]
* BackForTheFinale: Almost every mob from the previous shorts[[note]]Specifically, Charlie the Creeper, two of the Piglins (Presumably Paul and Pig-Lin), Allen the Ghast, Blaze the Blaze and newly introduced Billy the Baby Zombie all brought together by Edgar who was thought to have died[[/note]] came to the End to help the protagonists fight off Steve. [[spoiler: Unfortunately, none of them can overcome the unbelievable might of Steve and all had tragically died in the final battle trying to stop him.]]
* BaitAndSwitch: The behind-the-scenes video started off as a parody interview with the mobs as actors before the director Jackson Field dropped the pretences and explained the actual technical stuff in making the series.
* {{Bowdlerize}}: Pig-Lin the Piglin calls Steve as a "Diamond-wearing bastard" but the accompanying subtitle replaces "bastard" with “Son Born Out of Wedlock” due to [=YouTube=] Guidelines but mainly as a joke mocking said guidelines.
* BreakTheHaughty: The first short has Gary standing under a tree during the day while his friend Barry tauntingly laughs at him since he's wearing a helmet. However, Barry soon gets a wake-up call on his mortality when the helmet breaks and he painfully burst into flames in the afternoon sun. The next short has him standing in the shade with Gary in spite of respawning with his helmet due to being humbled by that unpleasant experience.
* {{Cephalothorax}}: Allen the Ghast, Blaze the Blaze and Shaun the Strider are portrayed as such since Ghasts, Blazes and Striders are basically giant heads with tentacles, rods and long legs respectively in Minecraft. During behind-the-scenes, Jackson covered his entire body from the neck down with a green screen cloth to achieve the effect.
* CerebusCallback: Sheldon mentions in his debut and several times afterwards about wanting to be an astronaut and go to space as a fun little quirk of his. [[spoiler:This detail becomes tragic when he’s fatally stabbed by Steve in the finale and as he lies on his deathbed, the last thing he saw was the End’s night sky.]]
-->'''Sheldon:''' Did we do it?
-->'''Gary:''' Yeah, we did.
-->'''Sheldon:''' Look Gary… stars.
-->'''Gary:''' Well, would you look at that.
-->'''Sheldon:''' You know Gary… I always wanted to go to space. [Smiles weakly]
-->'''Gary:''' I know you did Sheldon… I know you did
-->[Sheldon passes away and drops a bone in his place]
* {{Cliffhanger}}: The series suspensefully ends with Edgar exploding Steve with a bed in the End, presumably killing them both, and Gary being blown away from the explosion into the end portal, cueing the Minecraft credits. It’s unknown whether or not Steve was in hardcore mode and will be back another day, so Gary’s mission is far from over.
* ChromosomeCasting: All the mobs and Steve are ostensibly male due to their names and referring to themselves and others with masculine pronouns. Justified since everyone is played by the same guy, Jackson Field.
* DeliberateMonochrome: Allen the Ghast is in greyscale (Done using a black-and-white filter) as Ghasts are normally white and grey in colour. Similarly, Willie is also in greyscale to distinguish himself from Edgar since they both wear an all-black ensemble.
* TheGhost: The Ender Dragon is never shown on camera despite Steve reaching the End and defeating it. Perhaps it would have been too ridiculous looking to take seriously even for this series.
* HumanHeadOnTheWall: Or rather Zombie Head on the Wall as Gary horrifically discovers why his friend Barry has not respawned yet from being slain by Steve with flies buzzing around his even more decomposed, lifeless decapitated head mounted in Steve’s house. This sick display of his former friend as a tasteless hunting trophy drove Gary on a mission to stop Steve once and for all.
* IdiosyncraticEpisodeNaming: Most of the shorts go by "The Life of a Minecraft [Mob]" whenever a new mob is introduced and talks about their life as one (With the exception of Billy the Baby Zombie).
* LastEpisodeNewCharacter: Billy the Baby Zombie is introduced in the last episode of the first season but is killed by Steve shortly after.
* MultiPartEpisode: The final episode "The End" had to be split into five parts due to being the longest episode and [=YouTube=] shorts can only upload up to a minute-long clips.
* OddNameOut: Since Steve only goes by either his first name or the moniker "The Man in the Blue Shirt", he is the only character in the series not to be referenced by their species (In other words, "The Player") or have a title card when introduced.
* RhymeThemeNaming: Some of the mob species follow this trope as listed below:
** The zombie species all have names ending with "-arry" such as main protagonist Gary, his helmet-wearing friend Barry and Larry in the villager short.
** Zombie Pigman similarly have names that end in "-ork" which leads Bork to cause a huge commotion between him, Gork, Zork, Jork and Rork over mistakenly believing one another is in danger.
* RuleOfCool: The only reason why Gary manages to summon and wield a trident for the final battle even though zombies can’t normally hold such a weapon and, as Sheldon lampshades, that it magically appeared out of nowhere since they are in the End and their quest has never taken place in the underwater biome at any point[[note]]The only possible way to obtain the trident in-game is to kill the Drowned for one[[/note]].
* SharePhrase: Whenever we are introduced to a new mob, they introduce themselves with the line "Hi, I’m [Name] and I’m a [Mob Species]" to the point of being the main RunningGag. This gets [[RunningGagged parodied]] when Gary and Sheldon meet Seb the Silverfish who introduced himself multiple times without prompt but the two were not in the mood to humour him since they are looking for Steve.
* SummonToHand: Gary summons a trident out of thin air to his hand for the final battle in the End which Sheldon immediately lampshaded where he got it from.
-->'''Gary:''' Mobs [Summons trident like a badass] Assemble.
-->'''Sheldon:''' [DoubleTake] Where’d you get that trident?
-->'''Gary:''' I don’t know.
* TemptingFate: In "Life of a Minecraft Blaze", Blaze talks about how much his life is great in his debut short but soon after he finishes, Steve straight up kills him for his blaze rods.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Billy the Baby Zombie only got past his intro before Steve fatally drop kicks off the edge of The End.
