* RonTheDeathEater: Abuela in the film saw Mirabel as a disappointment and an embarrassment, but kept her expression of her distaste for her to just trying to keep her out of sight and out of mind. Here she for one thing asks someone to put a bag on Mirabel's head "because it makes me angry," asks Dolores to drown her in Holy Water at the Church, makes an unnecessary scene over Mirabel forgetting to get Avacados ([[WildMassGuessing assuming Abuela even put them on the list in the first place]]), and laughs when Mirabel falls down the stairs hard enough to be unable to make it to breakfast. Thankfully, unlike most examples of this trope, it's PlayedForLaughs.

Your Cheating Heart is not a trope

An {{WesternAnimation/Encanto}} series of video shorts by Nicque Marina, exploring obvious results of FridgeLogic to it's hilarious conclusion.

1) Dolores has SuperHearing as her gift.

2) Bruno lived [[spoiler:in the walls of Casita]] for years, and he entertained himself with making Telenovelas with his pet rats.

3) Therefore, Dolores ''had'' to have heard every word of it.

Diego: Carlos' Roommate.

Thus this series, where we get to see Dolores follow her favorite Soap and the drama within during breakfast, all while trying to hide the fact that she knows where ''Tio'' Bruno is.

*BabyTrap: ''"The Tea is hot?!'' ''' ''She Pregnant!'' ''' ''You ain't going nowhere Carlos!"''
*BackFromTheDead: Maria, who had died two years ago after being hit by a truck. [[spoiler:Except it's actually her Evil Triplet of the same name.]]
--> ''"She DID get run over by a truck! It was pretty bad. How is she back?" eats a sandwich''
*[[CheatingWithTheMilkman Cheating With The Mailman]]: When it is revealed that Juanita may not be pregnant with Carlos' baby after all, Dolores immediately nails The Mailman as the most probable suspect, likely due to the trope if nothing else.
*GossipyHens: Dolores' distraction irritates Abuela enough that she comes to suspect that her granddaughter is listening to these.
*PowerIncontinence: Dolores feigns this when she is "especially dramatica" the morning it is revealed Juanita is having an affair with Diego, Carlos' roommate.
*RonTheDeathEater: Abuela in the film saw Mirabel as a disappointment and an embarrassment, but kept her expression of her distaste for her to just trying to keep her out of sight and out of mind.
*SpitTake: At least two of the big reveals happen while Dolores is taking a drink. The first time she is able to just spit it back into her mug, the second time whoever was sitting across from her ([[CosmicPlaything Mirabel is probable given her status as]] TheUnfavorite) was not so lucky.
*SureLetsGoWithThat: "Uhh, yeah! "Very important" gossip. ''The best gossip! The Best [[GratuitousSpanish chisme]]!''"
*StageWhisper: Along with Abuela being... Abuela, and Dolores' reactions to nothing as far as the family is concerned, a key bit of humor comes from Dolores being unable to contain her own commentary on the events of ''Rato del Encanto'' in her head, and has to whisper them to herself at least.
*StrictlyFormula: Each 20-30 second episode follows a simple formula: Abuela berates and/or demeans Mirabel before asking Dolores a question, then cut to Dolores as she listens to the latest episode of ''Rato del Encanto,'' her loudly reacting to the latest plot twist loud enough to get the table's attention, then Dolores covers for herself before giving her own commentary on what she just heard.
*TheUnfavorite: In the Film, Abuela at least had the decency to not be unreasonably hurtful towards Mirabel not receiving a gift. Not so here! Fortunately its PlayedForLaughs, otherwise this series would be ''very'' depressing.
*WalkingSpoiler: Maria, Carlos' wife [[spoiler:and the evil triplet of said wife, evidently with the same name]].
*YourCheatingHeart: Carlos interrogates Juanita about her being along with Diego. Juanita fires back asking him about why he was holding hands in the cantina with Belinda, her daughter!
--> "Oh no Abuela, there's no bug! '' '''But there is a SNAKE!''' ''"
