''The MSG Saga'' is a Website/YouTube {{Machinima}} action series of ''VideoGame/GarrysMod'' videos, created by [[https://www.youtube.com/user/shirosaki97 Shirosaki97]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/user/ShermanZAtank ShermanZAtank]]. It features the titular character, Major Scout Guy, a hunter of [[HumanoidAbomination TF2 Freaks]] who comes into blows with a dangerous WebAnimation/{{Vagineer}} known as the Evolved Vagineer, while also collaborating with the Australium Guardians led by Cyborneer.

This series is set in the same universe as the ''Cyborneer Series'', ''WebAnimation/QuirkyMisadventuresOfSoldineTheCyborg'' and ''WebAnimation/DoppelgangersRampage'', with the stories briefly overlapping at certain points, especially with the first.

The series ran from May 12th, 2012 to July 15th, 2015, but ended in a [[OrphanedSeries cliffhanger that was never resolved]]. The series may be watched [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6AB7354C6859B87D here]].

!This series provides examples of:

* AnIcePerson: The blue shelled bullets in Major's Scattergun can freeze those they hit.
* AnimationBump: The series sees a steady increase in animation quality in the episodes made by [=Shirosaki97=] as it progresses.
** A more drastic example is comparing the episodes made by the former with those made by [=ShermanZAtank=], whose animation is much smoother, as well as the episode ''Friend or Foe?'', which was made by [[WebAnimation/QuirkyMisadventuresOfSoldineTheCyborg SarisKhan]].
* AsskickingEqualsAuthority: The Evolved Vagineer gains the allegiance of a trio of other Vagineers after killing a PRL one in ''MSG Saga: The Gathering''.
* BigBadEnsemble: The Evolved Vagineer is Major's primary foe, but he also constantly has to help Cyborneer deal with [=CyborSpy=].
* BigDamnHeroes: Happens multiple times in ''The Cyborshowdown'' with Major Scout Guy and [=TelroSpy=] repeatedly saving and being saved by Cyborneer and [=CyborHeavy=].
** [=TelroSpy=] risks his life to save Major and [=CyborScout=] during ''[=CyborScout=]'s Training'', [[spoiler:which leads to his disappearance.]]
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Major Scout Guy is briefly brainwashed by [[WebAnimation/QuirkyMisadventuresOfSoldineTheCyborg Dr. Schadenfreude]] during ''Friend or Foe?''. He gets knocked out of it after Soldine punches him down, though.
* {{Cliffhanger}}: ''The MSG Saga: Finale: Part 2'' ends with one, after [[spoiler:[=TelroSpy=] returns.]]
* ColonCancer: ''MSG Saga: Confrontation: Part 2: [=TelroSpy=] vs [=VagiSpy=]''.
* TheDragon: The Malevolent Vagispy serves as this to the Evolved Vagineer.
* EvilCounterpart: The Malevolent Vagispy is this to [=TelroSpy=], as the BLU-colored Spy-themed [=TF2=] Freak in service of one of the main characters of the story.
* EyeBeams: After the Vagineer evolved, he gained these, first demonstrated during ''MSG Saga: The Gathering''.
* FaceMonsterTurn: The innocent Spy attacked by the Vagineer in ''MSG Saga: Confrontation: Part 1'' is unwillingly transformed into the Malevolent Vagispy.
* FragileSpeedster: Major Scout Guy's combat style is a mix of this and GlassCannon. He can't take a hit, but good luck hitting him or surviving his shots.
* TheHero: Major Scout Guy, naturally. It is his saga, after all!
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Both [=TelroSpy=] and Cyborneer are this to Major Scout Guy. [[spoiler:He is devastated when the former goes missing.]]
* TheLancer: [=TelroSpy=], Major Scout Guy's main ally and best friend.
* OrphanedSeries: The series ends in the second part of the GrandFinale, which concludes in a ToBeContinued screen that was, in fact, never continued.
* PlayingWithFire: The orange shelled bullets in Major's Scattergun can set enemies on fire.
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: [=CyborSpy=] is on the receiving end of this in ''Cyborspy encounters Major Scout Guy'', courtesy of the latter.
* ShockAndAwe: The yellow shelled bullets in Major's Scattergun can shock enemies, briefly stunning them.
* ShotgunsAreJustBetter: Most of Major Scout Guy's powers are centered around his custom-build Scattergun, which allows him to fire elemental shots beyond common bullets which prove very useful in combat.
* SkywardScream: This is Major's reaction to [=TelroSpy=]'s disappearance in ''Desperate times''.
* SuperMode: Major Scout Guy can activate a "Power Boost" which serves as this, allowing him to take down the Vagineer or [=CyborSpy=]. He normally only uses it as a last resort.
* TakingTheBullet: During ''[=CyborScout=]'s Training'', [=TelroSpy=] saves [=CyborScout=] from Savior by shielding her with his body. Downplayed in that he survives the ordeal.
* TragicKeepsake: [[spoiler:[=TelroSpy=]'s hat becomes this to Major after the former goes missing.]]
* VersusTitle: ''MSG vs [=CyborPyro=]''.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Savior is not seen or mentioned again after he is defeated by [=TelroSpy=].
* WeaponizedTeleportation: [=TelroSpy=]'s main ability is teleporting, which he makes ample use of, such as ambushing [=CyborSpy=] from behind in ''The Cyborshowdown'' or retreating if things go south.
