* AnyoneCanDie Considering the lightheartedness of 'ChooseYourPath' nobody was expecting [[spoiler: Ken]] to die, nor the way he did. No fanfare, no final words, just a single crunch.

* AwesomenessIsVolatile: The high-five that our two adventurers share when they realize that the greatest reward is their newfound strength leads to an explosion of awesomeness so powerful it can be seen from space. Literally.
** In the First Hero, pretty much anything a hero does results in property damage by the billions.

* HomoeroticSubtext: Being a bromance this trope is played with. Especially at the part with the [[DidTheyOrDidntThey dragon cave...]] Wilhelm's reaction to Vito settling down with Gaya in "Wilhelm's Curse" plays out almost like a girl being on the losing end of a love triangle.

** Hit twice in 'Daughter Revenge'. First time by Wilhelm as he realized he jeopardize the world by handing the map over, second time by Tira when she released [[spoiler: Alethrion Greed]], and in turn inadvertedly having a hand in [[spoiler: Ken]] death.

* PhantomZonePicture: Interesting variant as it's only Sylvia mind that get trapped in a painting, Her body is used as a puppet. Luckily destroying the amulet allows Sylvia to regain her body.
* PhysicalGod: One in The Reward, and several more in The First Hero. It seems to be the way of this world for gods too to have physical forms. [[spoiler:They all die.]]
** WordOfGod states that the gods seen so far were not the only ones.

She wished to burn the map so that she could be rid of his memory entirely. It could also be implied that the reason she doesn't have a high opinion of adventurers in general is because of him.]]
