By around the third episode (and earlier, if you check the tags in the first video) it becomes apparent that ''Nyan~ Neko Sugar Girls'' is probably a StealthParody of Western {{Otaku}} culture, and many viewers consider the creators to be [[{{Troll}} Trolls]] of [[Fanfic/MyImmortal Tara Gilesbie]] proportions. However, the creators do have a trove of ConceptArt and character designs that implies that this was a sincere project at some point in its inception.

* OffscreenRomance: in the last episode after Raku-chan tries to confess to Hitoshi-san [[spoiler: we find our that him and his kidnapper became a couple without us even seeing how it happened]]

* MomentKiller: In episode 5 Raku seems about to tell Hitoshi her feelings, but then Koneko interrupts with [[TrademarkFavoriteFood Mochi Icecream and Green Tea.]]

* CerebusSyndrome: At first the show begins as some sort of RomanticComedy style anime, but starting with the fourth episode it soon becomes dark once [[spoiler:Raku-chan becomes infected with rabies. With no SnapBack or [[StatusQuoIsGod Status Quo]] to rely on, Raku-chan soon becomes weaker, before eventually running away due to feeling like a burden to her friends. After what appears to be a message from some sort of divine entity, Raku-chan transforms into a full cat. Eventually she is returned to her former self, however it appears she is still suffering from the effects of the rabies. Meanwhile, Hitoshi-san begins to see his captor [[StockholmSyndrome everywhere]]. Episode 9 reveals that Raku-chan had a bakeneko demon inside of her, though it was taken out of her by Vet-sama.]]

* StockholmSyndrome: Hitoshi-san begins fantasizing about his kidnapper after the attack, and has erotic dreams about him twice on screen. Bonus points in that he is wearing [[invoked]][[DracoInLeatherPants leather pants]] in the daydreams.

* NoseBleed: Upon meeting Mitoshi-san for the first time, Raku-chan's nose began to bleed out of arousal.

** The worst parts are when Koneko-chan's tail starts to look like a certain male body part.
** Raku-chan's constantly growing and shrinking breasts are pretty bad. At least Koneko-chan's are more consistent.
