* TakeThat: "Ted Talks" features familiar Simpsons characters with Ted Cruz's face saying misquoted Simpsons lines. Much of the dialogue is taken verbatim from a Buzzfeed video where Cruz demonstrates his impressions of these characters.

* VomitIndiscretionShot: Troy [=McLarry=] during the Doif commercial.

* RiteOfPassage: The Homm Grumm is a Simpsons initiation rite. Every generation of Simpson has had a Grumm. Hutz wishes that Maggie was alive to have hers. It involves watching a movie called "Springfield" about Lenny (dressed as Disco Stu) and his pet cat [[{{Garfield}} Springfield]]

* XMeetsY: ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'' meets ''Series/TwinPeaks'', as interpreted by a [[ThroughTheEyesOfMadness madman]] [[ThisIsYourPremiseOnDrugs high on PCP]]

The last scene is RingoStarr writing Hommer a thank you e-mail for the "framed baby Simpson" (a picture of Maggie's blue and lifeless body). ("I hung it on me wall!")
