** Early episodes had slice-of-life plots and focuses on exclusively familial conflicts. Even when an episode becomes more outlandish, its synopsis was rather common-place, such as a body swap. In later episodes, the Koopalings find themselves against threats and in locations outside the Dark Valley, with one episode being centered around Lemmy and Morton going into space.

He's also given a complex backstory, having several of his loved ones pass away and undergoing a level of CharacterDevelopment to reach his kingly status.

The style is in sprites, but ironically, they are quite expressive. All of the Nintendo characters are given an expansion of HiddenDepths. These guys technically originated from a prototype series called The Koopa Kids. The series was popular but Freeze wasn't satisfied. So he rebooted the series, and gave a lot of the side characters their own personalities and spin-offs, most notably, the AscendedExtra, Carl. Bowser's Koopalings, originally Bowser's Children is the ContinuityReboot of The Koopa Kids, Donkey Kong Island is the newest of the three shows, and Wars of Frozen Flames is a four-part mini-series that goes into detail about the lore of the franchise's universe.

Wars of Frozen Flames is heavily based off UsefulNotes/WarsOfTheRoses and is divided into four parts. In the 15th century, after a long succesion of armed conflicts both in and out of the kingdom lead to an anarchist revolt of peasants, Manchild King John Koopa VI's royal cabinet names Jerkass Lord Sigmund Phoenix King's Claw following the death of the previous King's Claw at the hands of anarchist peasants. This however doesn't sit well with Lord Richard Koopa of the Sherbet House, the king's cousin and the heir to the throne due to the former being childless, as Sigmund abanonded his troops to die in the middle of a battle and claimed no responsibility for his actions. From there onwards the tensions among the nobility escalate further once other various houses start aiding their respective allied fractions, each having their own reasons and interests. The series serves as a way to explore the franchise's universe and expand upon the established lore. The first episode was uploaded on [=YouTube=] on January 8th of 2022 and the show is currently on it's first part. All of the parts are expected to last four episodes each.

Bowser's Koopalings is the DenserAndWackier of all the three shows. The series showcases a mostly DysfunctionalFamily given the personalities of the koopalings and Bowser favouring his biological son Bowser Koopa III (Bowser Jr.), as he pretends being nice and innocent when in reality he's anything but. As the series went on, two more characters joined the Kongs' crew, with these being Kiddy, Chunky's brother, and [[Tomboy Katryna, K. Rool's niece.
