[[WMG: Cats and dogs were wiped out by the ALZ 113 virus.]]
Ever wondered what happened to all the pet cats and dogs in the sequel, simple the were all wiped out by the virus too. Think about it, this happened in the original movie series. This also would explain why dogs didn't appear in the sequels despite the fact they would be valuable as hunting partners, guards and attack dogs. These are things that all surviving humans could use. Cats though could be justified since they would serve the survivors no practical purpose.

Both franchises are owned by 20th Century Fox. ''Film/XMenFirstClass'' and ''Film/RiseOfThePlanetOfTheApes'' showed the origins of Charles Xavier and Caesar respectively. Both characters gathered their kind together in that film. Koba is an analog of Magneto since he works with Caesar in the movie, but he ends up killing someone vengefully at the end just as Magneto did at the end of ''First Class.'' Their targets, Sebastian Shaw and Steven Jacobs, ensured that experiments were carried out on them. Darwin and Buck die fighting these antagonists. ''Film/XMenDaysOfFuturePast'' and ''Film/DawnOfThePlanetOfTheApes'' were both released in 2014. Magneto and Koba both attempt to commit genocide against humans even though Xavier and Caesar want mutants and apes respectively to co-exist peacefully with them. Maurice is an analog of Hank McCoy / Beast since both characters are loyal to their leaders.

[[WMG: The missing astronauts will return in a fourth film. And unlike in the 1968 movie, they will realise that they are back on Earth almost immediately.]]
After all, the movie will follow a trilogy showing exactly how apes took over the planet, so there's no point in keeping the characters in the dark — it'll also serve to make the movie something more than just a straight remake.

[[WMG: This takes place in the same universe as ''{{Limitless}}'']]
In ''{{Limitless}}'', there is a drug that enhances your brain function, making you become hyperintelligent. Sounds exactly like the drug they gave the apes. Since the ''Limitless'' pills didn't kill you, they must be the earlier drug, the 112 that some other lab technician (there's other people working there besides Franklin and Rodman) that decided to sell the drug on the streets.

* To add onto this theory, the police officers riding horses was derived from the script for ''Batman Begins.'' Black Steven Jacobs working at Gen-Sys is a mistranslation of black Lucius Fox working at Wayne Enterprise. The former flew in a helicopter and the latter created an aircraft called The Bat. The scene in ''The Dark Knight Rises'' that includes Blake trying to get the bus full of people across the bridge without getting shot was mistranslated as apes pushing a bus on the Golden Gate Bridge to block the bullets of the humans. [[WMG: Lesser apes have not had their intelligence increased by the ALZ 113.]]
We have not seen any gibbons so far. It is possible that they have been unaffected (at least positively) by the 113. In the future, great apes may cage and/or enslave them. Ape scientists, perhaps named Cornelius and Zira, will create a drug that increases their intelligence, leading to the rise of lesser apes against great apes, mirroring the plot of ''Rise of the Planet of the Apes'' ironically.

[[WMG: Caesar dominating Rocket in ''Rise'' is a TakeThat to the 2001 film.]]
For the 2001 film, Terry Notary was a stunt performer and even did stunts for Tim Roth's politically powerful chimpanzee character Thade. In ''Rise,'' Notary portrays Rocket, a chimpanzee who is the alpha male in the San Bruno Primate Shelter until Caesar unleashed Buck the gorilla and terrifies Rocket into submitting to him. Caesar then becomes the leader of the apes. Therefore, the filmmakers were saying that ''Rise'' was better than the 2001 film. They may have also been saying that the pentalogy, which featured a chimp leader named Caesar, is better than the 2001 film. This may also explain why Rocket does not have a very large role in ''Dawn.''

Alpha must have been mad that the humans took his mate Bright Eyes away from him. Imagine how much more mad he would be if he was aware that she was pregnant at the time. If the ALZ-113 is airborne and spread across the globe, perhaps it increased the intelligence of apes across Africa. Between Bright-Eyes' capture and Caesar's uprising, Alpha could have already been captured and taken somewhere in America, perhaps hoping that he could be reunited with Bright Eyes. My bet is that it would be somewhere in New York like the Central Park Zoo, if only to show what becomes of the Statue of Liberty if Alpha appears in the next film. I could imagine him leading his own army of apes across the nation, slaughtering humans along the way. If such an army makes it to San Francisco, they could defeat the humans who reside there. It would be even more tragic if Alpha killed Caesar for defending the humans, not realizing that Caesar is his son until he sees the birth mark. If this were the next movie, it could be called ''Alpha of the Planet of the Apes.''
