Dion's powers at least partly match those of his father Mark, and for the ones that don't one could argue Mark simply hadn't discoverd all his powers yet when he was killed. Brayden however has powers that are nothing like his father's GreenThumb abilities. But who is to say his father was the one he got powers from. It's possible his mother was also in Iceland, and she got the telepathic powers Brayden has. Brayden just didn't know about them since his mom died when he was four.
