Thinking back on Panty's family in the last episode, it seems weird that an angel would have regular human relatives. It got me thinking into how Stocking is somehow half demon. My theory is that Judgement made a deal with Satan, who wanted to have a child to serve as an anti christ, to let him have his child but on the condition that she became the mother hoping that her divine genes would overcome his demonic ones. Prior to that she had decided to create a half angel child with a human man (probably in a virgin birth ordeal) who was a simple farmer out of curiosity to see how angel and human nature would mix. The farmer is the son of Tracy ("granny") and also the father of Sam by a human woman, making Sam Panty's half-brother. Stocking had realized her demonic heirtage at some point and felt deceived by her mother, allowing her to be easily swayed to Corset's side.

* Obviously, the new angel will probably be a reference to one of the SevenDeadlySins and have the ability to transform clothing into a weapon. My bet goes for a girl with a HairTriggerTemper (Wrath) that can transform her T-Shirt in a [[DropTheHammer gigantic hammer]]. Of course, her name will be T-Shirt.

The trailer at Anime Expo 2022 even shows Panty's cubes changing into her human form, and it would fit the parodic nature of the show.

This Troper posits this: Stocking gets into heaven at the beginning of episode 12, but finds heaven to be not worthwhile because her sister isn't there. When she sees Panty get into major trouble further in the episode, she petitions God or whoever is in charge to let her go back, but is told "no" for whatever reason. The series already established that Stocking considers some things worth hell (that Ghost she fell in love with), [[spoiler: so she commits the ultimate sin - bargaining with the devil (or a suitable stand-in, if Corset is indeed Satan).]] She leaves heaven [[spoiler: for committing this sin]] and gets the power and ability to bail Panty out, but some time between her BigDamnHeroes return and the end of episode 13, [[spoiler: her part of the deal was completed - she turns evil.]]

Further, it is possible that Stocking knew [[spoiler: that she would turn]], which is why she seemed to be in a hurry to finish the job once she came back for the final battle (i.e., rapidly typing away on her cell phone ordering stuff on Garterbelt's credit card) - [[spoiler: she wanted to both finish the job she sold her soul for as soon as possible and give Panty and the others as much help as possible to either turn her back or finish her off if she is beyond redemption, before her good side is no longer in a position to help.]] It may also explain why she neglects to tell anyone else about it.

This Troper will admit that this WMG is at least partly because [[spoiler: he is too heartbroken to take the ending at face value.]]

Additonal edit from OP: perhaps [[spoiler: the devil Stocking made a deal with was Corset (knowingly or unknowingly), which is how Corset was able to live to the post-credits backstab (or should that be headstab?). If Stocking didn't know it was Corset (or an agent of his) she was dealing with, Corset could have hidden in Brief's junk until Stocking was satisfied she got what she wanted out of the deal ("defeating" Corset and saving Panty). If Stocking did know, then perhaps all she wanted was to pull Panty out of immediate danger.]]

At this point, they will decide to join Garterbelt to stop the insane Corset.]] They might still be heavily obsessed with [[MemeticMutation RRRRRRRRRRULES]], but at this point, ''anything'' can happen.

Because even if they turn good, they'll no longer [[EvilIsCool be interesting]]. If anything, they might either [[spoiler:try to catch up with Corset and Stocking (and possibly form a TerribleTrio with the latter)]], [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome disappear entirely from the story]], or stay at Daten City and take over it, turning it into a city filled to the brim with [[MemeticMutation RRRRRRURRRRRRRU]].

The ED shows an inverse of Film/LittleNicky: Panty and Stocking die, ascend to Heaven... then take off their Halos and wink. This is canon. [[spoiler: Panty]] will appear near the start of the second season premier, but not before [[spoiler: Brief ends up in Oten City. Stocking]] is working under the (probably correct} assumption that Brief doesn't know what happens when [[spoiler: an angel dies.]]

Think about it, that thing is always with Stocking and yet we've seen nothing important from it thus far. It's after revenge on Stocking for destroying it back in the episode ''Sex And The Daten City''. It teamed up with Corset and in the very last seconds after the girls defeated him, it [[spoiler: brainwashed Stocking into slicing up Panty and joining Corset.]]

What struck me about the Panty/Brief sex scenes in episode 12 and 13 was the difference in Panty's motives. In episode 12, she's frustrated due to constantly being cockblocked by Garterbelt, getting beaten up by Scanty and Kneesocks, getting rescued by ''Brief'' of all people, getting stranded in the middle of nowhere with Brief etc. The list goes on. At that point she may or may not have started developing the feelings for Brief that [[TheyDo come full circle]] next episode. If she has, she may not be aware of it. Either way, she's too proud to admit it. Hell, she ''outright states'' that she only wants him because he'd be number one thousand. Cue neither of them enjoying it (Panty's hymen grows back, and Brief actually looks ''bored'' during the act.) In episode 13, on the other hand, one must remember that Panty has no reason to believe that screwing Brief will acomplish what it does. The way I interpreted it, Panty thinks the world is going to end, there's nothing she can do about it, so why not [[WhenAllYouHaveIsAHammer do what she does best]], and why not with the one she has realized she loves? So when she offers her angelic virginity to Brief out of love, she gets her second chance. Tl;dr: [[{{Anvilicious}} Sex for the sake of sex =/= Sex for the sake of love.]]

The only reasons being that she's a rather fanservicey girl who [[spoiler:just happens to be a succubus]] and that her underwear kinda looks like [[{{God}} "Mom's"]].

Defies all logic, but writing-wise it makes sense. The end of the stinger implied that the new season would focus on him for at least part of it, and since [[spoiler: Panty's been diced and Stocking is evil, they won't be around to fight for him.]] While "High-school Nudical" would imply that the weapon would be a shotgun, this troper argues that that was only because Panty was wielding it. If he learned to transform his own underwear, my guess for the form would be a [[Ghostbusters Proton Pack]].

Just look at episodes 12 and 13. Season One was just the story of when she [[spoiler: broke away from Stocking]] and the rest of the show will mainly focus on her.

The respawned [[spoiler: Corset]] was actually a puppet (they didn't notice due being too shocked by what had just happened) voiced by Panty, and they already knew what happened if you [[spoiler: cut an Angel with heaven-sent weapons]].

* Also, the director has moved on to a new studio, and Creator/StudioGainax has moved on to [[LightNovel/TheMysticArchivesOfDantalian manga]] [[Manga/MedakaBox adaptations.]] Sorry, but this seals the fate of the show.
