[[WMG: Godzilla's species isn't extinct.]]
Godzilla appears to be the LastOfHisKind, after the other members of his species died in previous wars against fellow Titans, such as the MUTOs and Great Apes. However, just as we thought Kong was the last Great Ape, isn't it possible Godzilla's not the last either? Perhaps a future film could see him face off against a rival member of his kind, one that was driven mad somehow by the isolation deep within the Hollow Earth. Additionally....

[[WMG: The ancient war between the Great Apes and Godzilla was a lot bigger and more destructive than we previously thought.]]
Godzilla is apparently the LastOfHisKind, however we learn later on that Kong's species, the Great Apes, fought an ancient war against him. We also learn that Skar King, a Great Ape, led an army to invade the surface and Godzilla defeated and sealed them away. However, just as the final confrontation between the Great Apes and Skullcrawlers involved hundreds of Skullcrawlers swarming them and killing Kong's parents in the process, this ancient war could have involved hundreds of Godzillas vs hundreds of Great Apes, devastating both species' numbers in the process. Something to cover, perhaps, in a future flashback.

Kong’s final move against the T-Rex in the original film is iconic, and in both ''Film/KongSkullIsland'' and ''Film/GodzillaVsKong'', he attempts it on the Skull Devil and Godzilla to no avail. It would make for a fantastic BrickJoke, if, during the last Monsterverse movie, Kong finally succeeds at using it on another Titan.

The synopsis for the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel explicitly states that the narrative will pit the two titular monsters [[https://collider.com/godzilla-vs-kong-2-synopsis-monsterverse-sequel/ "against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own"]]. And if this doesn't scream "Cthulhu" and "R'lyeh", a link to the Old Ones is made more likely by the fact that the story will explore the history and origin of the Titans, together with [[https://collider.com/godzilla-vs-kong-2-synopsis-monsterverse-sequel/ "the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever"]].

Godzilla will eventually overload and go berserk as a result. Every Titan is either killed or maimed in the resulting rampage, Kong included. However, Kong, just like in '62, is struck by lightning, and proceeds to effectively beat the excess radiation out of Godzilla

[[WMG: Songs used in future movies or trailers will include:]]
* ''Thousand Eyes'' by Music/OfMonstersAndMen: Perfect for a Ghidorah solo film. ''"I am the storm... I am the storm... I am the storm... So wait."'' Plus, there's the band's name...
* ''Radioactive'' by Music/ImagineDragons: Need I say more?
* ''Different World'' by Alan Walker: Fits the climate change and force of nature allegories.
* While we're on that, ''Unbreakable'' by Becko.
* ''Leviathan'' by Music/DirtPoorRobins: The lyrics are a dead ringer.

This could be either that they are the same species, with a variable number of heads or [[HydraProblem some way to grow more]], or a closely related species with different number of heads. Either way, despite their similarities, Orochi will not be a malevolent existential threat to Earth like Ghidorah, and actually chose to live within the natural order despite his alien origins. This will show Ghidorah isn't simply evil because of his nature as an alien making him incompatible with Earth's ecology, but because he [[ForTheEvulz chooses to be evil]].

** Gamera would probably exist as someone to close the power gap between Godzilla and Kong. Unlike Kong, he can match Godzilla blow for blow even when the big G gets serious. For example, when Godzilla rams into Gamera, instead of being knocked down or pushed back like the MUTOS or Kong, he stands his ground and gets into what amounts to a Kaiju sized BrawlerLock.

Proof of this can be from Behemoth having the second-longest screentime out of all the minor Titans that Ghidorah woke up, as well as not only being the first of the minors to arrive after Ghidorah's defeat, but is the first of them to acknowledge Godzilla as the new Apex.

** Here's an interesting concept. While the theory of an alpha wolf has long since been debunked, Gamera will be classified as a "Sigma" Titan, as while he is equal to the Alpha, he only ever fights alone and doesn't care about "Ruling" any of the Titans. His motivations for protecting people are unknown, and probably always will be.
