***"If they weren't your love interest at all, they shake off the brainwashing due to ThePowerOfFriendship, but unable to join back your team": not actually true. Whether A/K can be recruited is a function of Shepard's Paragon score (plus a big bonus for Faithful Lover status); for some reason the recruitment dialog options aren't color-coded, and don't appear grayed out if unavailable, but nonetheless are P-dependent.

[[WMG: Aria is an Ardat-Yakshi, and used her abilities to take over.]]
Yes, we all know she's implying she got [[spoiler: Patriarch's]] men on her side with sexual favours, but considering how cagey Aria is about her past? Then you do her ''one little favour'' and it just suddenly turns all that around? ''Riiiight''.

That's the story Aria ''wants'' out there. You're surely not the only one who knows it; she wants you as another "vector" to spread it, this "secret" truth. A secret, behind a secret... She wants to keep her ability to MindRape people into obedience as an ace in the whole, as well as possibly not wanting people to know she's willing to go there. After all, if people don't ''know'' she's capable of that... who's gonna trace whatever poor, disposable unfortunate she uses to gain power to ''her''? The "ruler" of Omega, uninterested in petty killings and with ''no possible'' motive?

-->'''Aria''': I took advantage of certain... ''skills'' my people try to downplay. Patriarch's men abandoned him in droves.

Sound familiar? To, maybe, ''their treatment of Ardat-Yakshi?''

And a certain loyalty power? At a much greater scale?

** The main problem with the theory is that Ashley/Kaiden didn't get paralyzed in the same area the colonist they were chatting with was. There was a bunch of chaotic movement. As to how they got loose, it's likely the Collectors intentionally released the paralysis so that Cerberus couldn't study the condition so that they could develop a much more effective countermeasure then merely baffling the swarms, which I wouldn't put past those GenreSavvy bastards.

** Miranda, Jacob, and other Cerberus lackeys are keen to espouse how great Cerberus is, and that it does good work. At the moment, the ''only'' good things we've seen them do is build the SR-2 (which, in itself, is not a "good" thing) and resurrect Shepard (along with all the ethical baggage that comes along with it, which is sadly never addressed in-game). On the other hand, BioWare goes out of its way to show Cerberus' villainy is one step removed from that of the Reapers. They're assholes, period.
*** BioWare has shown a very selective and one-sided portrayal of Cerberus' "villainy". According to the Illusive Man the unethical Cerberus experiments Shepard has seen were rogue elements. He claims he didn't know about them at the time and he put a stop to them when he found out (this is at least partially confirmed in Jack's loyalty mission, where the recordings clearly say the Illusive Man didn't know what they were up to). True, this could be an elaborate deception on TIM's part, but it could also be the complete and unvarnished truth. We don't know for sure. So it's not fair to say they're "assholes, period".

[[folder:The Hanar and the Drell Co-existence]]
[[WMG: The drell benefit from the co-existence with the hanar partially because the hanar are more intelligent or at least technologically more advanced than the drell.]]
The upper hand with technological advancement is probably quite clear (after all, the hanar had interplanetary travel capacity before the drell), but let me explain the intelligence part. I personally believe that what comes to advanced thinking (and not just memorizing things), drell have got the shorter straw -- namely, they are slightly less intelligent than, say, humans. This is because of their eidetic memory: when your head takes a lot effort to save just everything you have seen, it surely takes a toll to your ability to creatively process the information. Also, if the species is developed to remember everything they have experienced, there is less need to rely on creative problem-solving when you have access to more raw data, so there's less evolutionary need to let only the smarter to survive. (Mostly, though, this idea is because I like the drell having more weaknesses than just their allergy to the humid environments.)

So back to the hanar-drell co-existence. If we assume that the hanar have intelligence around human level (nothing is said in any direction), it might be possible that the hanar are more intelligent than the drell. Therefore, the drell society benefits from the hanar researchers and other hanar intellectuals, for example in the form of medical research. Mind you, in the second game Thane states that Kepral's syndrome is studied by "the brightest of" the ''hanar'' scientists, not by the ''drell'' scientists. The intelligence of the hanar also explains why the drell are willing to assist the hanar in more physical work; use your resource where it works best, or keep the hanar doing the brain work. This does not mean that the drell can't be scientists, too (there are certainly above-average intelligent drell, plus their eidetic memory might have its benefits), but it is just less common.

[[WMG: Preitor Gavorn doesn't have a human fetish.]]
Consider that turian women lack all of the secondary sex characteristics of human women, as well as the distinguishing head crests turian men have. Human men effectively look ''a lot'' more like turian women than human women (or asari) do; this can even relate to Garrus' comment about how he would compliment a female Shepard for having a supportive waist if she were turian; human men, having generally wider waists than women do, could satisfy that particular point of attraction as well. Any given heterosexual turian man who doesn't specifically find humans attractive ''because'' they're alien would most likely find a human male more attractive than a human female; Gavorn may very well be seeing a human man not because it's a human or a man, but because he normally identifies as heterosexual, a human man is close enough, and he doesn't care about a difference in species or that it technically makes him bisexual.
