Added Enthusiastic Newbie Teacher trope to theory concerning how Alva ended up in Smeerensburg.
Changed line(s) 11,12 (click to see context) from:
She saw that Smeerensburg had been without a school teacher for ages, so she confidently volunteered. Her teachers begged her not to go, and described what kind of place it was, but to her pure heart, she was convinced it wasn't as bad as they said. It was.

* Unlikely, given that in his youth Klaus had brown hair, while Ellingboes have red hair, so this theory is most likely jossed.

There's really no other reason she'd end up as a schoolteacher in a town where parents refused to send children to school. Maybe she was sent there for the opposite reason Jesper was - she graduated with ''so much'' enthusiasm for the job that she ended up irritating someone important in the school system, who either assigned her to Smeerensberg or reccomended she take the job in an attempt to break her spirit. If so, it was successful at first.

It's established that the overwhelming majority of Smeerensburg's residents are either a part of clans the Krums or Ellingboe, with Alva and the Ferryman having moved there to pursue career options. And then you have Klaus, who lives on the island far away from the town. This theory exposits that Klaus and his wife were members of the feuding families, fell in love in spite of family history and moved to the woods to keep out of all that nonsense. With the sheer size of both families, it's unlikely that they would have any close enough family members left to acknowledge this in-universe, or they were disowned by their families with "fraternizing" with each other, the family still too sour towards each other at the time to accept their union.

[[WMG: Pumpkin and Olaf liked each other before Olaf saved Pumpkin.]]
Given how their families had been feuding with each other since they were born, these two might have harbored secret feelings for each other for a long time. Olaf saving Pumpkin from falling off the mountain gave them the push they needed to acknowledge their love.

In the movie, Toothiana claims they were all someone before they became Guardians. My theory is that at the end of the film, either the Man in the Moon or Jack Frost was the one blowing the wind in order to guide him on his path to becoming a Guardian.

[[WMG: How did the Feud even start with?]]
It's shown that the Feud has been going on since the stone ages. My theory is that the Krums and the Ellingboe's were originally rival cave tribes who fought over land, resources, etc and just continued with the animosity for the sake of "tradition".

[[WMG: The Ellingboes are surviving neanderthals.]]
They are shown to have fought with the Krums as far back as the stone age, and they match neanderthal descriptions fairly well, with their red hair (neanderthals are proven to have had the redhead gene) and most of them being big and stout compared to most of the Krums. Not to mention that one theory as to what caused the extinction of purebred neanderthals was overbreeding with ''Homo sapiens'', suggesting that the Ellingboes were the only neanderthal population to avoid mating with the other human species until the present day.
