The Blanchett family is closely connected to Southern Louisiana, having purchased land in the region and paying to build a crypt to store the bodies of those who were buried in St. Sebastian's Church in 1838. (The name of the decaying church by the graves). Jaques fell in love with the Church in spite of it's notorious reputation and the death's associated with it. Following the Civil War and Jaques Blanchett's death the Widow Blanchett gained control of his dwindling estate. In 1870 she sold some land to Ishim Gird, but when she discovered his true intentions were to build a Protestant Church on the land from which to convert the Catholic Population she became enraged and supposedly cursed him and his congregation. The final blow came from the Construction of Reynard Mill by the D.B. Willis & Co. Lumber Company to clear cut the Cyprus trees. The same trees the Widow Blanchett spent the last years of her life wandering. What if while wandering those trees she found something that would help her take revenge upon those that plotted to cheat her and destroy what she loved.
