[[WMG: Baiken's appearance in ''VideoGame/SamuraiShodown'' is canon. Kind of.]]
* Specifically, that the version of Japan in Samurai Shodown is an alternate timeline not unlike the one from the audio dramas. During Baiken's arcade story she notes multiple times that she recognizes a past version of her homeland, but feels no sense of familiarity. She also tells Ruixiang about her own world, as if she knows she's not in "her" Japan. Even her prologue mentions that she "washed ashore in a strange land." All of these things imply that Baiken isn't just in the past, she's in another version of it. So how did she get there? Well, the promotional material for her gust appearance specifies Rev 2 as her source game, which is consistent with her design and moveset. Baiken does not make a significant appearance in the Rev 2 After Stories, so maybe this is where she was between that time and the events of Strive? Characters like Axl, I-No and Happy Chaos have shown that timelines can be a fickle thing in Guilty Gear, and considering that the last of those three just happens to be Baiken's entire reason for fighting...well, it may not be a stretch to assume that her pursuit of "That Man" lead her to another timeline's ancient Japan.

The sound and lyrics are more fitting for Chaos himself than Nagoriyuki, and given that Nagoriyuki serves Chaos in the story mode, the boss battle may be implied to be against Chaos by proxy. Whenever Happy Chaos is made an official playable character, he will use Crawl as his battle theme and it will be selectable like the rest of the songs are.

* Where do you people get the idea that Millia and Zato were ever in anything even resembling a romantic relationship? We know that Zato trusted Millia enough on a professional level that her betrayal led to his capture (which sparked his hatred for her). In Millia's Ending III in ''GGXX'', she claims that he saved her, raised her, "dirtied her soul" (which This Troper interprets as "probably killed her parents and definitely forced her to kill people", '''not''' "raped her or forced her to undergo a defloration ritual to gain hair-based powers she didn't even want") and loved her (in his own twisted way - his [[ItsAllAboutMe gargantuan ego]] probably led him to believe that the feeling was mutual). Due to StockholmSyndrome, Millia probably did feel a strong attachment to Zato - Venom suggests that he (Venom) and Millia are NotSoDifferent, in that they both pursue Zato even after his demise - but this hardly implies romantic or even platonic love. Finally, my guess is that [[SugarAndIcePersonality Millia]] obsesses over (physical) chastity (or purity in general) as a means of [[BrokenBird compensating for the corruption of her soul/morals]] she has suffered.

* Turning himself into and reversing being a Gear: The end of the Xrd storyline involving the afflicted affecting the Japanese was never resolved. All we were left with was that the Japanese were still afflicted with Gear Cells and could still turn into a Gear under the right circumstance/outside interference. Faust would not let the Japanese suffer such a condition and would try and find the proper cure or procedure. He has the medical knowledge of Gears through his interactions with Ky & Dizzy, he's developed temporary cures to halt the Gear activation, but what would be the best way to
cure the Japanese? Learning and attempting how to turn someone into a Gear and how to reverse that process.

[[WMG: Faust did one, or more, of the following. He turned himself into a Gear then attempted to reverse the process, he used his Revival Procedure that was marked for the assassination on himself, he entered The Backyard.]]
With the canon routes that have been established through the games since X and how the story played out in Xrd, we know that Faust has certain knowledge and drive to do the things listed above.

*Using the Revival Procedure: At the end of Xrd, we know that Faust came into contact with the last member of the Conclave, who ordered the assassination of the little girl he was going to do his procedure on. His own knowledge, the knowledge of the Conclave, and that medical suture wound on Faust's chest point to some sort of medical procedure was done, and what other than to use himself as the first patient for his Revival Procedure?

Yet, there are just as many who can't hate the people who would give their lives and use their powers to save them, such as Dizzy seemingly being accepted after protecting the people of Illyria. Because of this, the world is becoming heavily divided on what to do about these superpowered beings. Asuka being arrested and any further revelations would only further divide them.

[[WMG: The world has become far more divided in ''STRIVE'' regarding not just Gears but people with extraordinary abilities]]
''Mankind knew that they cannot change society. So instead of reflecting on themselves, they blame the Beasts.''
It's the line said at the beginning at every match as well as part of the interlude in "Smell of the Game", and it is a statement of how the world of Guilty Gear is now. It makes sense too considering what has been revealed in ''Revelator''. Both I-no and Raven reflect on how their desire to help mankind have left them jaded and Ariels' "betrayal" of mankind has probably made everyone more suspicious than ever.

By moniker, I mean the flavor text in the character select screen, like like May is called "Relentless Girl". He is also most likely a homage to [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yasuke Yasuke]], a samurai of African origin. Unlike other dark skinned and AmbiguouslyBrown characters his "Afro-Blackness" seems the more apparent and probably intentional.

[[WMG: Faust’s appearance in Strive is a result of him taking on a spirit/parasite]]
Particularly, Faust has taken on a spirit from Zappa, or possibly even Eddie. Some evidence:
* Faust has a history trying to cure Zappa of his possessions. In XX and Xrd, he’s shown working with Zappa to cure him of his possessions. Maybe Faust’s solution was to take on the spirits instead?
* Faust’s movements and abilities in Strive are weird and supernatural, even for Faust. First, he moves in a bizarre, inhuman way, somewhat similar to Zappa when he was possessed. He also seems somewhat unaware of his actions during the fight. Particularly, during his new move where he eats his opponent, he seems to panic before teleporting the opponent back, as if he isn’t fully in control of his actions.
* In one of Faust’s endingS in Guilty Gear X, he cures Zato-1 and takes Eddie. As Zato-1 has not yet been confirmed for Strive, Faust may have cured Zato and taken Eddie between Xrd and Strive.
* This one is more aesthetic, but Strive-Faust is constantly framed in darkness. Given Eddie controls darkness, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think that Faust’s appearance could be a result of Eddie’s power.

In his trailer for STRIVE, Faust has become much more creepy and unsettling. He does things like eat and reguritate his opponents, he looks thinner and more emciated, and has an overall more sinister, monstrous feel, not unlike his personality as Dr. Baldhead from the original GG.
* Xrd showed that Faust still retains his bloodlust and murderous impulses from his days as Dr. Baldhead, he's just able to keep them under control and masks them with his goofy antics.
