Constantly deriding Ayami at every opportunity and treating her as incompetent simply for being a woman, Taira is [[EstablishingCharacterMoment introduced]] mocking Ayami for failing her mission, an event which had traumatized her due to [[spoiler:the death of her LoveInterest]]. When she gets demoted as a result, he takes her spot, and repeatedly antagonizes her whenever he finds her, treating her like a criminal.
