* NoSympathy: At one point Edgeworth basically tells Adrian Andrews it's not his problem if [[spoiler:she decides to commit suicide.]] That is just ''damn'' cold, to the point of being out of character. Especially since he had seen suicide and did freak out.

*** Additionally, in the Japanese version, the puzzle is *significantly* harder because the reassembled urn says "子供" (kodomo, meaning "kid"), while Ami's name is listed in katakana as "キョウコ" (Kyouko). Not only was it reassmbled backwards (子供 vs 供子), but the name is listed in a different script than what is written on the urn *and* it uses a different kanji reading for 供 (kyou vs domo).

* SdrawkcabName: In the Japanese version of case 3, the tiger and monkey are named Ratou and Ruusaa, reversed versions of the Japanese words for "tiger" and "monkey" respectively (with the vowels lengthened as well). The English localization breaks the pattern and just names them "Regent" and "Money" instead.

* MyNaymeIs: Maggey's unusual name spelling is a plot point in the first case, and the very first piece of evidence used in the trial. The victim, Dustin Prince, seemingly left a DyingClue to name his killer by writing their name in the sand, but it was spelled "Maggie", the far more common spelling of the name. As Phoenix points out, since Maggey and Dustin were dating for six months, there's no way he wouldn't have known how to correctly spell her name, meaning that he didn't write it and the real killer did so to frame her.

* AsYouKnow: When Maggey first appears, she provides some initial background on her situation--that she was falsely accused of a crime, and other lawyers refused to help her before Phoenix agreed to take her case--when telling him that she's counting on him. Since all of this ''should'' be stuff that Phoenix already knows (he actually doesn't at the moment thanks to his temporary amnesia, but Maggey doesn't know that), the dialogue clearly exists entirely for the audience's benefit.
