** Depending on how you played the first book, Chapters 5 and 6 of ''It Lives Beneath'' can be this. If all or most of the characters from the first book are alive, there's some funny and sweet scenes where Harper and Tom catch up with the first book's cast. You get some answers about just what's going on in Pine Springs, Tom gets a big nerve boost, and there's little danger around. However, if most of the first book's cast died, then the chapters are bleaker -- in particular, if [[spoiler: Devon died]], Tom will actually lose a lot of nerve.

Per TRS, this is YMMV, so moving it accordingly

* SequelDifficultySpike: In ''It Lives In The Woods'', everyone's Nerve scores except Dan's start at 100, and you have to avoid losing too much. In ''It Lives Beneath'', everyone's Nerve score starts at 0, and you have to gain nerve in addition to not losing what you have. Nerve checks are also harder to pass in the latter.
