* InformedEquipment: Swords and shields have different colors and graphics, but shoes and other equipment (including the ''hooded cloak'' that is the "Asbestos Cape") are not visibly equipped.
* JungleJapes: The third set of dungeons.
* LethalLavaLand: Caliente requires the Asbestos Cape just to be able to stand in it without taking damage.
* MoneySpider: Averted. Enemies drop sphere-shaped soul crystals known as Almas, which can be exchanged for gold at the bank. In fact, it's the ''only'' way you can actually get more gold.
* NewWorldTease: The first level requires you to pass through a portion of the second level (which is separated from the rest of that level).
* NightmareFuel: Jashiin's face in the introduction - a big grin full of sharp teeth, hidden in the shadows. Notable in that he looks nothing like that when you finally fight him.
** Vista, the fifth boss. The entire fifth level is pretty much a ZombieApocalypse, but nothing could prepare this troper for that... gaping mouth... giant eyeball... [[BuffySpeak thing.]]
* OneHitKill: [=NPCs=] claim that the Fairy Flame Sword can do this. And (at least against {{Mooks}}) it does.
* PlotCoupon: The Tears of Esmesanti, which are retrieved once per dungeon boss.
* RedheadedHero: Duke Garland
* SlippySlideyIceWorld: The fourth world. You have to acquire special shoes to walk on the ice without slipping.
* SmartBomb: The final spell, Guerra
* SoulPower: Almas. See GuideDangIt above.
* StabTheSky: Duke Garland does this every time he gains a Tear of Esmesanti.
* StationaryBoss: The squid boss of the second dungeon.
* SwordOfPlotAdvancement: Happens twice with both the Knight Sword and the Fairy Flame Sword.
* TakenForGranite: The Princess has been turned to stone by Jashiin. Amusingly, she looks different in the various pictures seen in the game.
* TeleportSpam: Jashiin does this in his first form.
* ThatOneBoss: The dragon of the volcano world is quite accurate with its fiery BreathWeapon.
* ThatOneLevel: In Stage 7, there's a [[ConvectionSchmonvection fire cave]] called Correr. You need to find the exit, not an easy task since the scenery and doors all look the same. It's also filled with one-way invisible walls, meaning that if you cross one you can't get back the way you came. On top of that, it has whirlpools. Get caught in one of these and you'll get carried somewhere else in the level. Did we mention wolves constantly respawn and try to ram you?
** The final world contains [[GuideDangIt fake walls that you are supposed to run or jump through.]]
* UselessUsefulSpell: Espada (Throwing Swords), due to its lackluster damage capabilities, and Rascar (Falling Rocks), due to the random nature in which the rocks fall.

* WakeUpCallBoss: The crab boss of the first dungeon, Cangrejo.
* ZombieApocalypse: Combined with a general theme of rot, decay, and undeath for one of the worlds.
