The objective of the game is to break the curse that befalls on the main characters, which states that one of them will die after a hundred days, before the day finally arrives. This will be only possible by solving a good number of mysteries in the city, therefore uncovering the truth of the curseDebunking false urban legends will usually get you no points, although hearing or completing some of them may lead to other new useful ones..

* SanityMeter: The game has an invisible "Spiritual Disturbance" meter, which grows a point higher on each day after the Human-faced Crow encounter. It's possible to lower or raise it during some investigations - for example, a visit to the temple will lower one point per day. After 20 points are obtained (10 in the case of Kurumi), yout last played character will suffer a NightmareSequence minigame after every 10 points - depending on the chosen option, the meter will stay the same or rise a point. In case that you reach 100 points, it's GameOver.

** The rumor of the lizard's hand: A lizard hand will bring death to whoever school student's desk is thrown to. The only way to escape the curse is by throwing it to somebody else's desk... Ironically, Takehiko (the head psychatrist) psychatrist and an old acquintance of the family) doesn't believe her to be mentally ill and at most thinks that it's a minor behavioral issue -- it's Akigawa (the junior psychiatrist) who decides that a medication-lead treatment is more appropriate to treat her possible psychotic condition.condition, and who her parents end up trusting.

Ironically, Takehiko (the head psychatrist) doesn't believe her to be mentally ill and at most thinks that it's a minor behavioral issue -- it's Akigawa (the junior psychiatrist) who decides that a medication-lead treatment is more appropriate to treat her possible psychotic condition.

* SanityMeter: The game has an invisible "Spirit Harm" meter, which grows a point higher on each day after the Human-faced Crow encounter.

Yuuyami Doori Tankentai (translated: Dusk Street Exploration Party) is a Horror-themed AdventureGame developed by Creator/SpikeChunsoft for the UsefulNotes/Playstation.

The game is set in the fictional Japanese town of Hirumi City. The game follows three kids, a boy named Nao, two girls named Kurumi and Sango, and Nao's dog Meros. They've heard quite a number of pretty spooky urban legends about places all over town, and have decided to look in to their legitimacy.

The hook of the game is that all your choices affect the story in some way. Who you listen to, which legends you learn about, which legends you decide to look into, and which of the kids you pick to go to where the legend is and look into it.

The game was released on October 7th, 1999, but only in Japan.
