''Werewolves Online'' is a multiplayer game published by [=Philipp Eichhorn=]. It was released on February 28th, 2020.It is, in essence, the {{social deduction game}}s ''Mafia'' and ''TabletopGame/Werewolf1986'' translated into a video game. It is based off of the ''TabletopGame/Werewolf1986''. Sixteen players go through a day and night cycle, with few dying each night. Each night lasts 30 seconds, followed by daybreak, with a discussion period of 1 minute, in which the players discuss who to vote out. Finally, a 30 second voting period follows, where the village can all cast their vote. The person voted will die, only being able to communicate in the dead chat.

** Any player on any side will often be motivated to cast aspersions on people voting for them. The knee-jerk instinct to vote for someone in retaliation for voting for them is especially prevalent.

!! Tropes associated with Werewolf/Mafia:
* DrivenToSuicide: Certain roles will kill themselves under the wrong circumstances.
** The "Priest" role must commit suicide if the target of their wrath is revealed to be pro-Town.
** The Sect Leader is a solo killer that convert people each night. When it dies, all the members die with it.
* EvilVersusEvil: The Solo Killers and the Werewolves
* HilarityEnsues: Inevitable, once accusations, claims, and counterclaims start flying. Of course the trolls don't exactly calm things down....
* SocialDeductionGame: TropeCodifier. Players are assigned various 'civilian' roles (some of whom have special abilities) and there's at least one killer, who offs one villager during the night each round. During the day the rest have to figure out who it is, and can choose to execute someone they suspect is the werewolf (although the werewolf/mafioso can misdirect them as well). The werewolf/mafioso wins if he kills all (or all but a couple) of villagers; the civilians win if they successfully identify the killer.
* SpotTheImposter: Happens when more people claim to be a role that is stated to exist by the rules of the game.
* TakingYouWithMe:
** A feature of some roles is that they will kill anyone who kills them, either directly in self defense as part of the Night action or after the next Morning's reveal.
** Any player on any side will often be motivated to cast aspersions on people voting for them. The knee-jerk instinct to vote for someone in retaliation for voting for them is especially prevalent.

Each night lasts 30 seconds, followed by daybreak, with a discussion period of 1 minute, in which the players discuss who to vote out. Finally, a 30 second voting period follows, where the village can all cast their vote. The person voted will die, only being able to communicate in the dead chat.

There are multiple teams throughout the game:
* The village: Their role is to survive. There are varying village roles, one of them being the seer. The seer can see what role one person has every night. There are also defenders, who protect seers from getting attacked, hunters, which can kill suspected Werewolves on their own, and the medium, who can talk to the dead. The game ends if all the Werewolves and Solo Killers have died.
*The Werewolves: This is the main killing team. Every night, one person is voted out. Unless they are protected, they die. This person can now only communicate in the "dead chat", not heard by the living, except the Medium. The Werewolves have their own abilities to help them, such as the junior werewolf, which can kill a villager when it dies. The game ends if there are no solo killers left and the number of Werewolves is the same as the number of villagers.
*The solo killers: These killers try to kill the village, however they are on a separate team from the Werewolves. Every night, they choose someone they want to kill. There are varying solo killer roles, each with their own abilities. Solo killers cannot be killed by the Werewolves. The game ends if everyone has been converted or killed.
*The solo voters. The players try to convince the villagers to vote out the person of their choice, who is not a killer. The game ends if the person of their choice is voted out.
