Added DiffLines:

* BoobyTrap: The area outside the railway tunnel has a deadfall trap, two raising spike traps, a BearTrap, and a rolling spike pit trap. They're set off when the detective approaches, causing a small JumpScare.

* FantasyAmericana

to:

* FantasyAmericanaFantasyAmericana: Red Creek Valley has an unnatural vibe to it, being an abandoned mining town in the American Midwest where supernatural phenomena occurs. [[spoiler: Subverted however when it turns out that there are apparently no actual fantasy elements; the entire game is just Ethan's DyingDream.]]

Something Completely Different is no longer a trope. It's an index now. Examples that do not fit existing tropes will be deleted.

* AndNowForSomethingCompletelyDifferent: All of the side-quests qualify but the best example is probably the one in the mine; a surprise stealth horror section, complete with an ImplacableMan enemy and a NonStandardGameOver should he catch you. Amusingly, [[VideoGame/AmnesiaTheDarkDescent Frictional Games]] gets a ShoutOut in the credits.
** Another unexpected one is the Astronaut sidequest. First, you have to [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext go find a light pole in the middle of the forest]], and then [[spoiler:you get teleported to an astronaut, who you have to chase down to his spaceship and board it for [[VideoGame/{{Portal2}} SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE]].]]

dewicking Adult Fear per TRS

* AdultFear: Imagine watching as your family's love for the son turns into vicious, murderous and implacable hatred. Further, imagine feeling the same compulsion to kill and destroy and knowing that it can't be resisted or defied. [[spoiler: Towards the end, a different, mundane (but no less frightening) fear takes place: the fear that one of your children are trapped in a burning building, and you're left with a thin chance of saving them.]]
