* TheCretaceousIsAlwaysDoomed: In ''Dinosaurs'', there's a RandomEvent in which the bus malfunctions and sends you to the end of the Cretaceous by accident. You can stay there a while or click an "X" to skip the whole sequence, but either way the bus manages to leave ''just'' before the asteroid strikes.

** ''Explores the Ocean'' shows a sea turtle retracting into its shell. Sea turtles cannot do that.

* BrokenAesop: Despite ''Explores the Age of Dinosaurs'' pointing out the theory that birds are dinosaurs, the MiniGame Dino Madness has a turkey and an ostrich as correct answers for the "That's Not a Dinosaur" questions. Made especially jarring when those questions have ''Archaeopteryx'' as a wrong answer.

** ''Human Body'' is also ''very'' heavy on the PopUpVideoGame, is also quite surreal (like ''Solar System''), has a painting mini-game (Which only ''Inside the Earth'' has), and has much more notable eerie music.

* DevelopersForesight:
** In ''Inside the Earth'', When you go to the back of the bus, depending on where you are a different student is standing there with Ms. Frizzle. If you activate the "Transformer" (which teaches about practical uses of Rocks & Minerals), Keesha will walk out to "host" the activity. If the student standing with Ms. Frizzle is Keesha? She will host it from where she's standing.
** Also from ''Inside the Earth'', Ralph hosts the "Oven" activity in which the player tries to make rocks&minerals out of elements. Ralph is always standing ''outside'' the bus looking in. But if you go there while the bus is in the ocean, Ralph is wearing diving gear which includes a helmet.

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: "Solar System" is the only game with no "Driver's License". And it has no real minigames - aside from the platforming game. Janet also is not present in the following games.

** Played with in ''Explores the Earth''. While your main goal is to locate the 4 Rocks and Minerals Arnold is missing from his collection, it is still possible to collect all the other available rocks and minerals to.

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Arnold in ''Inside the Earth'' is quite willing to go on the field trip - this is justified in that the inciting event is that he lost rocks from his collection.

* PolarBearsAndPenguins: A ''Frogger''-style mini-game in ''Animals'' involves getting a penguin from the north pole to the south pole complete with polar bears in the first stage.

* VideoGameCrueltyPotential: Some of the science experiments in "Human Body" let you do some pretty weird things to Arnold - the lungs minigame in particular lets the player make Arnold breathe a bunch of Carbon Dioxide and Nitrogen. Outside of the science experiments, you can control Arnold and make him fall down.

** Many people confessed they ''intentionally'' threw Janet into Neptune's atmosphere in ''Solar System''.
