** Playing an improperly cracked copy of the gaem that you found on some abandonware sites? Either your roar meter won't refill or the health and roar meter upgrade bugs won't do a thing.

* DarkerAndEdgier: Adult Simba's levels when compared to the rest of the game. They lack the lighthearted elements that were in young Simba's levels, and every single one of them involves a lot of FamilyUnfriendlyViolence where you maul large packs of enemies to death.
* DisneyVillainDeath: Invoked. In order to beat Scar in the final level, you have to toss him off of Pride Rock.

* KillerGorilla: Subverted in that he's not actively attacking Simba, only throwing coconuts at him, becasue apparently he wants to be left alone. It doesn't stop him from being [[NintendoHard the toughest boss in the game]].
