Authority Equals Asskicking has been renamed.

* ArbitraryHeadcountLimit: At the start of a run, your army can only field three leader units total for combat. Additional slots can be unlocked with in-game funds, but each subsequent slot costs more. Additionally, a maximum of six leaders can participate in a battle, though fighters in reserve will be useful, as health takes time to recover and rival territories may launch a counterattack.

* DefeatMeansFriendship: By defeating other factions in battle, you can imprison their heroes and spend turns trying to persuade them into joining your side. However, the key lieutenants of some factions are only willing to listen if you've already recruited their leader, and any captive has a chance of simply escaping if left in jail long enough.

Gameplay is split between administrative mode, in which you can delegate units to search for supplies or strengthen the walls of cities in your territory, and campaign mode, in which selected heroes invades other territories and battle in six-on-six encounters.

The game takes place on the imaginary continent of Eagarlnia, where humans, elves, orcs, dwarves and the undead each have territories of their own. Towards the east, the desert kingdom of Nubidia has recently slain Garrison Abhoth, the leader of the Eslotian Empire, and two royal heirs attempt to lay their claim over the now-empty throne. Amidst the chaos, various other factions decide that now is the perfect time to claim the "Land of Praise" for themselves...

!!Tropes:
* HundredPercentCompletion: Aside from UsefulNotes/{{Steam}} achievements, there's an in-game list of every hero in the game, with their profile pictures and backstories being revealed after they're recruited in any run.
* AllThereInTheManual: The developers have revealed most of the game's lore through [[https://www.reddit.com/r/thloeagarlnia/ their official Subreddit]].
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: The leaders and main lieutenants of a faction tend to be more powerful than generic recruited heroes, and even generics hit harder and last longer than the troops they command.
* CallingYourAttacks: Every Hero has a skill they can use in battle, which gets its own battle cry when used.
* ColorCodedArmies: Every faction on the map is represented by its own flag. The Reclamation Army is blue-white-gold, the Praetorian Guard is gold-black-blue, Adas is brown-green, Dunatticus is purple, Manu is black-red...
* TheEmpire: The Eslotian Empire, prior to [[SuccessionCrisis its division]], controlled the largest territory of the continent.
* FiveManBand: Most territories have their own. Just for example, [[{{Privateer}} Hagmonia]] has Admiral Durant as TheHero, Captain Aioros as TheLancer, Durant's lover Kate as TheChick, his right-hand girl Bethel as TheSmartGuy, and his left-hand girl Flovena as TheBigGuy.
* FriendlyFireproof: Combat skills that have an area-of-effect don't affect the army opposite of the one you're targeting.
* TheHero: Lenna Abhoth is the most like a typical protagonist out of all the faction leaders, particularly since the game's Tutorial is from her perspective.
* InterspeciesRomance: As seen in [[https://www.reddit.com/r/thloeagarlnia/comments/kt2fzi/week_6_reveal_lanlerner_dunatticus/ the Lanlerner lore update]] and reflected in-game, Theodore Royce (human) of the Reclamation Army is in a relationship with Caranthir Starlight (elf).
* TheKingslayer: Although credit for Garrison's death is given to the Nubidians, it is the House of Craft, a house of nobles in the Eslotian Empire, that orchestrated the encounter in order to gain political power.
* LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters: There is a roster of over 200 Heroes, and over 50 soldier types, that the player can recruit into their army.
* LoveTriangle: The lore for [[https://www.reddit.com/r/thloeagarlnia/comments/kjxhil/week_1_reveal_reclamation_praetorian/ the Praetorian Guard]] shows that Vincent has unrequited love for Krishna, who's in a relationship with Schilder,
* LuckBasedMission: Rather than just sending units to investigate towns or increase resources, you can send teams of three into special dungeons. However, even if their stats exceed the dungeon's recommendation, there is no guarantee that they will bring back useful resources, or even last the entire expedition.
* MookLieutenant: There are a number of heroes you can randomly recruit by investigating towns. However, while some of them are special, the majority are [[PaletteSwap similar-looking]] and have much worse stats than faction heroes.
* OptionalPartyMember: Everyone outside of your initial army is this. Instead of attempting to recruit the heroes you've beaten and imprisoned, you can let them go free, or return them to their leader in exchange for resources...or you can choose to execute them, if you'd rather not risk an opposing faction using them against you.
* OurDwarvesAreAllTheSame: The setting's dwarves, such as [[https://twitter.com/thloeagarlnia/status/1352586375384584194 Fallon Bladeaxe]], are presented as stocky, bearded, and toting some rather heavy weaponry.
* PrincelingRivalry: Prince Enuo was born after Lenna, and his jealousy over her being the rightful successor leads to him being easily manipulated by the House of Craft.
* {{Privateer}}: The Hagmonia faction has this as their hat, as it's an ocean-based trading empire whose leaders only indulge in TeethClenchedTeamwork because of the promise of greater wealth.
* SecretCharacter: In addition to the heroes you start with, the heroes you can recruit randomly, and the heroes from other factions you can persuade into joining after defeating them, there are a bunch of special heroes that can only be recruited by completing sidequests given to you by other heroes.
* SpiritualSuccessor: Comparisons to ''VideoGame/DragonForceSega'' are inevitable, considering that both base management and direct combat functions similarly.
* SuccessionCrisis: The main plot is instigated by one, between [[TheHero Lenna Abhoth]] of the Reclamation Army, and [[PrincelingRivalry Enuo Abhoth]] of the Praetorian Guard.
* TakeOverTheWorld: Regardless of the faction you pick and their initial goals, the game doesn't end until the entire continent is under your control.
* TheUndead: The Shadow Specters is a faction led by Salotana, a century-old specter stuck in limbo after fighting against darkness in life but becoming too tainted by it to be accepted by the light.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Some heroes, such as Shion of the Dunatticus dark elf faction, are always shirtless and bearing their abs.
