''The Factoree'' is an IdleGame made in UsefulNotes/TheModdingTree by Dystopia-user181 and released in 2020. As the title suggests, it has you use extractors to gain ores, then you get furnaces to turns ores into metals, and then there are other constructions (including the titular Factories). The main draws of the game include its critique towards industrialism (nothing major, but still) and its unique graphical style that uses more rectangular buttons and a different font.

The game is playable [[https://dystopia-user181.github.io/The-Modding-Tree/ here]].

!!This game provides examples of:
* AIGeneratedEconomy: Starting from the Manufacturer layer, you start getting milestones that automatically claim resets for certain resources and purchase buyables.
* {{Cap}}:
** The 181 upgrade effect is capped at 100,000%.
** You can initially have only 1000 Furnaces at once. Factory 1 increases the cap.
** Plastic structures are capped at 20 because of government protection. One-time Research 2 lifts the cap.
** Researches are capped at 50 for balancing.
* ChallengeRun: The Monopoly layer has the Competitors tab where different factories put lawsuits or otherwise compete with your company. Each challenge has you reach an ore quota with some restriction (no embers, no furnaces, limited factories, etc.).
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: Each layer has its own color.
** Extractor: Dark lilac
** Furnace: Dark gray
** Manufacturer: Maroon
** Plastic: Gray
** Monopoly: Aquamarine
** Power station: Yellow
** Research: Blue
* ExportSave: You can press a button to export the 6KB+ save file and another to export it back into the game.
* PunBasedTitle: Based on "the factory" and "tree".
* ShoutOut:
** The upgrade that makes oil burning always active and improves its effects is called ''VideoGame/TheBurningTree''.
** The upgrade that
* SkillPointReset: You can reset Factories at any time as buying one increases the prices of others, but this causes a Manufacturer reset. The ability gets removed once you have the Monopoly Over Land upgrade that removes the price increases.
* ToxicInc: Your factory starts to use oil, plastic, and other environmentally unhealthy materials to help extract more ores. The Monopoly layer even has a Pollutions tab where you make waste and greenhouse gas to further improve production.
