* ThePreciousPreciousCar: In the opening cutscene of The Delivery story mission, Alexis Kendrick gives the player the task of shipping a Alpha Grand Prix car from an unnamed airport to Los Angeles Airport. Hiro, upon noticing the race cars being loaded into the plane, decides to have the player go for a joyride in one of the cars and drive it down the California coast while streaming it to viewers on the LIVE service. Alexis is not amused by Hiro's actions in the post-event dialogue.

* ChaosArchitecture: Despite being in the same setting as the first game with nods to that game's events, Motornation saw a bunch of changes compared to the original.
** Several minor settlements that were seen in the first game are outright gone in the sequel, with only empty roads where they were originally at. Hope, Indiana; Hancock, New York; and Glacier City are all excised from the map.
** Chicago lost its Airport between the games. A minor suburb and a large swath of empty land is now where Chicago Midway Airport would be placed. The "U.S. Speed Tour Next" update adds a giant racing complex situated in Lake Michigan to make up for it.
** Both border crossing checkpoints and their respective roads leading to them are gone. The Border Wall sectioning off Mexico is replaced with a invisible wall and a lone dirt road, and the Ambassador Bridge leading into Windsor, Ontario is also removed.
** Several military bases scattered across the map were removed as well. Vanderberg Air Force Base and most of Arlington County were severly gutted, with the former reduced to a generic airstrip and the latter's only remnants being the Pentagon due to being required for a Photo-Op task. Fort Ross is replaced with a generic American Petrol gas station.
** The Shoreline Fair was completely removed. The "MAD" update adds a different [[AbandonedPlayground abandoned Water Park]] in the desert west of Salt Lake City where several MAD Skill challenges are present later on in the game's update cycle.
** Several other settlements lost landmarks and districts between the games, such as St. Louis having its suburbs district removed or New York City losing the USS Intrepid museum.

* ArtisticLicenseGeography: Much like the first game, ''The Crew 2'' has some... questionable geography with the United States. Las Vegas is further east and north than its real-life counterpart, the Lower Peninsula of Michigan is misshapen and Detroit is further north than it is in real life, and Florida looks downright tumorous. Many cities lack famous landmarks, with the distinct Chicago skyline being reduced to mostly generic in-game buildings, with no Sears Tower in sight, and most of the country's topography is totally wrong. All of this is excusable, of course, given the sheer size of the map and the manpower it would've taken to recreate it all faithfully. One particularly baffling example is how Bar Harbor, a known Maine tourist destination popularized by [[Videogame/Fallout4 a certain open-world RPG]], is featured yet the larger Boston and Massachusetts aren't in The Crew 2's version of USA.
