* NiceHat: Whoever isn't the protagonist ends up wearing a hat, as it is part of the DressCode for the Order of Mages (barring Celric, for some reason).

Somewhere in the universe lies an alternate fantasy world known as 'Al-Warth', where the people and beasts live together and magic was involved. While the land is divided between [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann the Land of Beasts]], [[Anime/CrossAnge the Land of Mana]] and at the center of it, the [[Anime/MashinHeroWataruSeries Mt. Soukai]], observing them are the Keepers of Order, a group of mediating sorcerers that upheld order in the land, worshipping the God of Wisdom Ende. Al-Warth faced something of a crisis when many people from other worlds were summoned to Al-Warth and several evil forces from within such as [[Anime/MashinHeroWataruSeries Doakdar]] made their move to conquer the world, but the Keepers of Order remain an enigmatic force. At one point, one of the two sorcerers of the Order; either [[OriginalGeneration Iori Iolite or Amari Aquamarine]] awakened a magical creature that they christened with the name Hopes/Spero and an unused Autowarlock machine, the Xelguard, and departed from the Order to find out the truth about the Order and Al-Warth itself...

* TrueCompanions: [[Anime/BuddyComplex Aoba]] and [[Anime/GundamReconguistaInG Bellri]] form a pretty fast bond, in large part due to their [[BirdsOfAFeather similarly optimistic personalities]]. Because of this, they are often seen supporting each other, such as when Bellri coaches Aoba in piloting, or when [[spoiler:Aoba stops Bellri from going to far when the latter is having an episode after learning his origins]].

* CommonalityConnection: Prior to her sneaking into the Misurugi Empire in an attempt to save her sister, [[Anime/CrossAnge Ange]] is quite touched when she receives unexepected support, in different ways, from [[Anime/BuddyComplex Dio]] and [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch]], two guys who also have little sisters bound to wheelchairs.

* TookALevelInKindness: Ange's interactions with Wataru play a role in making her character more benevolent and reasonable, leading her to practically being a CoolBigSis to [[Anime/NadiaTheSecretOfBlueWater Nadia]], ''another'' on-off beligerent princess that she also eventually became more reasonable quicker. Her in interactions with [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch]] further helped strengthened the process, as the former Holy Britannian Emperor helped her realise that even in a seemingly cruel and uncaring universe Justice can be achieved [[spoiler:So much that when she finds Sylvia walking on her own, she offers her a hand to restore order to Misurugi and establish Cafe Ange in her old home.]]

** The [[Anime/CodeGeass Holy Britannian Empire under Lelouch]] and [[Anime/AuraBattlerDunbine Drake's army]] did this prior to the game's events. However, as both stories are finished by the time of the plot starts, that's all done with.

** [[Anime/BraveExpressMightGaine Gaine]] retains his in-battle line about [[spoiler:avenging Maito's parents.]] However, given that [[spoiler:it's never mentioned whether or not Exev was behind their deaths in this version of events,]] this statement comes straight out of left field.
** [[Anime/CrossAnga Hilda's]] designated "FinalBoss line" about "not letting them have their way with Ange or the Earth" is kept from ''V'', even though it doesn't make as much sense in this setting.[[labelnote:Explanation]]Unlike in ''V'', Hilda is not from Earth in this game, so her being determined to protect it has little-to-no build up here.[[/labelnote]]

* HeelFaceTurn: In [=PV2=], [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamCharsCounterattack Neo-Zeon-era Char Aznable]] is shown flying in the Nightingale on the typical right hand side reserved for the good guys, similar to ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsDestiny'' [[spoiler:and, eventually, ''[[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsZ Z3]]'' (minus the Nightingale for the latter game).]] However, he starts the game off joined up with Towasanga, therefore making him initially an enemy.

** [[Anime/TheBraveExpressMightGaine Might Senpuuji]] brings back his ''V'' perks card, continuing to perform his President skill usage of earning extra Tac points just by deploying him. Along with his ''[[MassTeleportation entire district]]'' surrounding his Senpuuji Railroad Aoidou Division plant transported to the world of Al-Warth, his plant serves as the oasis for unit repairs and upgrades, along with some sanity for pilots who were homesick for some contemporary stuff. Might lampshades his gratitude with this outcome, otherwise it’ll be hard for his employees to survive in the primitive world such as Al-Warth.

* HealTheCutie: [[Anime/CrossAnge Ange]] pretty much undergoes this to a degree thanks to the presence of [[Anime/MashinHeroWataruSeries Wataru]] and [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch]]. Hilda ends up the same way, especially after Wataru comments how she and Ange are NotSoDifferent. [[Anime/NadiaTheSecretOfBlueWater Grandis]] lampshades how they rely so much on Wataru as a MoralityChain to pick themselves up.

*** Due to being [[ScrewedByTheNetwork cancelled]], the original series had their second season condensed down into two episodes, resulting in a lot of rushed plot resolutions, character developments, and a rather ambiguous ending about whether or not the time-loop that trapped one of the main characters was finally broken. [[spoiler: In-game, it's revealed that [[Anime/CrossAnge Embryo]] was the cause of the time-loop and had manipulated both sides of the conflict for both experimentation and personal amusement. Neither side are happy about this reveal, with Evgeni promising to come after Embryo once he's done killing the protagonists. The heroes stick around beyond the end of their own story, and are intentionally sent back to their respective timelines with no fear of the time-loop now that Embryo is dead.]]

* FixFic: For the ''Anime/CrossAnge'' plotline.
** Ange's own personality changes by encountering [[Anime/MashinHeroWataruSeries Wataru]] and [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch]].
** While the X-Cross fleet still need to fight against sudden dragon attacks, they're not as frequent as in ''V'' and the protagonists aren't interested in ensuring kills.
** Also, Ange's rescue of Sylvia goes differently ([[spoiler:although she still gets betrayed]]). Instead of going on her own in a sloppy infiltration of Misurugi, [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch]] intervenes while calling her out on such reckless maneuver. But rather than simply stop Ange, he offers something even better, an all-out assault on Misurugi by X-Cross to perform the rescue operation.
** The attack on Arzenal has changed again. [[spoiler:Salamandinay's encounters with [[KidHero Wataru]] draw her to X-Cross' side long before she would have destroyed it. Instead, Embryo recruits the Diamond Rose Knights by stealth and has them lead an easily-repulsed assault alongside himself, [[MindManipulation mind-controlled]] dragons, [[Anime/NadiaTheSecretOfBlueWater Neo-Atlantean forces]], and eventually the [[OriginalGeneration Keepers of Order]].]]
** [[spoiler:After Aura tells her about Embryo, Sylvia’s deep regret causes her to stand up without being intimidated and forced by her older sister. After the final battle, she agrees to make amends and they become sisters again.]]
** Norma’s AntiMagic does not counter all magic; it only disrupts Dracunium-based magic used by Mana and the Dragons. Other magic systems still affect them like anything else ([[spoiler:As [[Funny/SuperRobotWarsX Magical Girl Salia]] can atest]]).

* CombinationAttack: A series staple, although ''X'' adds a new twist to the usual rules: in this game, combination attacks can still be used even without all of the participants on the field, although using them this greatly weakens the power of the attack:

** Embryo kills [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWingEndlessWaltz Dekim]] here the [[YouHaveFailedMe same way and moment]] he killed [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEEDDestiny Lord Djibril]] there.

** While the X-Cross fleet still needs to fight against sudden dragon attacks, they're not as frequent as in V and the protagonists aren't interested in ensuring kills.

* IntergenerationalFriendship: 9 year-old Wataru ends up striking a meaningful friendship with Ange, who's 16.

* TookALevelInKindness: Ange's interactions with Wataru play a role in making her character more benevolent and reasonable, leading her to practically being a CoolBigSis to [[Anime/NadiaTheSecretOfBlueWater Nadia]], ''another'' on-off beligerent princess that she also eventually became more reasonable quicker. [[spoiler:So much that when she finds Sylvia walking on her own, she offers her a hand to restore order to Misurugi and establish Cafe Ange in her old home.]]

* MoralityPet: Wataru becomes one for Ange. She says more than once that she just can't say no to him.

* LighterAndSofter: This game is mostly designed for younger audiences, especially with ''Anime/MashinHeroWataruSeries'' on the headline, hence taking place in a much more AdventureFriendlyWorld and series with darker influences, had their darkness and bleak setting toned down. Chief examples to this are how [[Anime/CrossAnge Ange]] eventually [[TookALevelInKindness became a bit kinder]] thanks to Wataru, [[spoiler:[[Anime/BuddyComplex Bizon]] being able to pull a HeelFaceTurn out of disgust of his older self]] or how [[Anime/ShinMazinger Mazinger ZERO]] [[spoiler:is reimagined as a mere 'darker side of Mazinkaiser', rather than the original reality-destroying abomination]].

* HealTheCutie: [[Anime/CrossAnge Ange]] pretty much undergoes this to a degree thanks to the presence of [[Anime/MashinHeroWataruSeries Wataru]] and [[Anime/CodeGeassSeries Lelouch]]. * CoolBigSis: Ange ends up becoming one for both Wataru and Nadia.Interestingly [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch]], serve as a Cool Big Brother to Ange, as he helps her in carrying out a whole operation, to rescue her sister Sylvia [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBs90XBZ6X0 moments]] right after his reintroduction. The whole startup is an awesome moment for Lelouch, as it allows the former Holy Britiannian Emperor to show some serious [[BigBrotherInstinct Big Brother Instincts]] to a fellow [[FallenPrincess Fallen Royal]], Ange, by having him really stick his neck out for the former Misurugi Princess, while everyone else were either say "good luck" or try to stop her. The very proposition stuns Ange so much that she thanks him and everyone for their support. And this is not a typical sarcastic "thank you" she gives either, but a true expression of gratitude for everyone's help.
