I have tested it personally and there is no Armor bug. Also, V comes before W, not after.

* GameBreakingBug: A primary reason why some certain gamers were ticked off about Destiny. The armor coding is so bugged that it nerfs super robots and their ability to tank. However, some players argue there is no bug present in the game: Units in Destiny simply have defensive stats on par with the Classic Timeline games, while weapon attack power is on the high end of the scale, comparable to the Original Generation titles. Since Destiny units lack the high armor rating to balance it out, overall damage is rendered higher. Accuracy and evasion rates for real-types are similarly high, as most real robot pilots have the "Focus" Spirit Command to give themselves a boost. At the same time, it's rare to see super robot pilots in Destiny to get the "Guard" Spirit Command to raise their defense (though they universally have some sort of defensive Spirit Command).
** There are basically several features to the game that combine in a less-than-helpful manner. The higher weapon attack stats, middling armor stats, unusually high reliance on the pilot's Defense stat in calculating damage taken, while adding up to an irritating problem for traditionally MightyGlacier types, are also what allow the under-3-meter tall Anime/Megazone23 units to be competitive. (Worth noting that the VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsZ sequels circumvented this with the ATs.)
*** Long story short, the game doesn't like the concept of LightningBruiser Lightning Bruisers to the point of refusing to include any. In the end, it can be circumvented with a change in tactics - treat your units as interceptors and bombers rather than infantry and unstoppable tanks on the first playthrough. And, because you'll have pre-modified afflicted characters' Defense stats for every following run, the 'bug' isn't as noticeable from the second playthrough onwards.
** One that is an actual bug, though, is that the game applies Bonus Points to character data regardless of if they are friend or foe at the moment. So, if you level up and modify Chronicle, B.D, Marg and RoseRose only gets BP if you convince her properly; otherwise she becomes the fifth Cosmo Crusher pilot and won't gain any to begin with, or Gabil at all, they'll have those modifications to their stats when you fight them on your next playthrough. The kicker is that the game gives different character portraits different stats, so this means Brainwashed Marg (enemy only) doesn't get the Bonuses, but Katejina and Glacius (their portraits only change when they join) aren't affected.
*** Luckily, the game properly transfers Hayato and Max's BP. (Hint: don't pump up just their Defense.)

* UrbanLegendOfZelda: Destiny is commonly said to have a GameBreakingBug that causes the Armor stat to not apply to damage reduction. The actual cause of the issue is that units in Destiny simply have defensive stats on par with the Classic Timeline games, while weapon attack power is on the high end of the scale, comparable to the Original Generation titles. Since Destiny units lack the high Armor rating to balance it out, overall damage is much higher, making super robots, who are normally Mighty Glaciers and Lightning Bruisers, into GlassCannon units instead. While it is possible to make a unit into a durable one, it requires considerable investment in both the robot's Armor stat and the pilot's Defense stat; most games only require one or the other. This is easily tested by upgrading a unit's Armor before going into battle and comparing the numbers to the same unit without upgrades, but rumors of an Armor bug still persist to this day.
** Unit accuracy and evasion in Destiny is also lower than average, but the "Focus" Spirit Command that increases hit and dodge rate is available on virtually every pilot who needs it, while it's comparatively rare for super robot pilots to get the "Guard" Spirit Command that boosts defense. Other defensive commands are available, but most only affect one incoming attack.

* LightningBruiser: Megazone23 The (Proto) Garland. Granted, its armor is crap, but it's agile enough to not need armor, and WOW does it hit hard when fully upgraded (specifically, its standard "Physical Attack" has a high critical hit rate, accurate, and doesn't cost EN; combine this with its 4 parts slots, and it will very easily be getting nothing but critical hits at a decent range in no time flat).

** This is why the under-3-meter tall Garland is less a FragileSpeedster and more a GlassCannon. A stiff breeze will probably kill it, but it can kill the stiff breeze - or get it to retreat - handily.
*** Long story short, the game doesn't like the concept of LightningBruiser Lightning Bruisers.

** This is why There are basically several features to the game that combine in a less-than-helpful manner. The higher weapon attack stats, middling armor stats, unusually high reliance on the pilot's Defense stat in calculating damage taken, while adding up to an irritating problem for traditionally MightyGlacier types, are also what allow the under-3-meter tall Garland is less a FragileSpeedster and more a GlassCannon. A stiff breeze will probably kill it, but it can kill Megazone23 units to be competitive. (Worth noting that the stiff breeze - or get it to retreat - handily.
VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsZ sequels circumvented this with the ATs.)
