* OverlyLongFightingAnimation : Practically every EX Super. In particular, [[GaoGaiGar G-Suneo's]] [[DropTheHammer Goldion Hammer]] has a bad habit of keeping the victim in their "hit" pose throughout the whole attack, which can be quite jarring in Battle Royale mode.
** One of Kay's supers involves her transforming into [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Kaworu Nagisa]] and [[TheGlomp glomps]] her opponent. The gigantic EVA Unit-01's hand [[ShoutOut reprises the final scene of episode 24]] by [[spoiler: squishing Kay and her opponent]]. [[{{Hammerspace}} Even if a human hand with a remote control comes out from nowhere]] to fast-forward the scene, it's quite annoying if the CPU repeats said super twice in a row.
* PerfectPlayAI: Shin-Z. There are only two weaknesses in his AI: Frequently trying to use supers when he doesn't have enough EX bars for it (which is an AI weakness for most characters, anyway,) and occasionally trying to Shun Goku Satsu a character who's been knocked down.
* PlayableMenu: As you start a single-player game, you have to choose one of the sub-modes. How? By kicking the other cosplayers.
* PunBasedTitle: Super Robot Wars -> Super Cosplay Wars. It even mocks the logo for the heck of [[AffectionateParody it]].
** And don't you say it ends just here: just for a quick throw, what's the name of the girl who cosplays [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Amuro Ray's mobile suits]]? * RealSongThemeTune: This game has no original soundtrack whatsoever. It even exploits the other doujin fighting games' [=MIDI=] tracks for the endings.

** Asura has HurricaneKick and Shoryuken-type specials that he'll abuse like there's no tomorrow.
* SNKBoss: Zenka, Alpha and Shin-Z (''[[AntiClimaxBoss not]]'' [[AntiClimaxBoss his regular form Z-Mega]]). Masa, in the same fashion, despite him not being one of the final bosses.
* SpiritualSuccessor: To ''Fighters Kyodotai'' by the same team which also features over-the-top cast and settings, as well as lots of references to anime and videogaming culture. Moreso to its' unfinished sequel, ''Fighters Kyodotai Flash''.
* SuperMovePortraitAttack: Every single MAX move.
** Though there are a few exceptions, like Rear, Gigi, Ziro and the Battle Royale characters.
* ToiletHumor: Super Astro Man Z and his laser blasters (a LOT bigger than ''Anime/AstroBoy'''s), which he literally pulls out of his asshole may qualify as an attempt at this.
* TroubledFetalPosition: Ziro assumes this pose in his down animation, complete with thumb-sucking and even a "MAMAAAAA!" if it happened after a failed self-destruct attempt.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: When you unlock all characters in ''Genkai Toppa'', you suddenly get five empty slots. When you select these, however, the game will throw you to the title screen, which means there were supposed to be more new fighters in the game (otherwise, following the logic of the engine in ''Fighter Maker 2002'', it wouldn't react anyhow).
** Ken+Luigi and Akuma+Wario mashups were mentioned in Erus's ending. [[EpilepticTrees Take your time to guess whether they are supposed to be in the new updates]].

A few of the elements that warped into [=SCWU=] are the music theme from one of the stages, Gigi (with completely different sprites and moveset, though) and Natuki Kageyama's voice samples which were later recycled for Amiro. Not to say about several interface elements. Of course, we will never know why Aoba didn't hit the [=SCWU=] roster...
* WholesomeCrossdresser: A few characters have a crossplay outfit somewhere in their moveset. Notable examples include Erus, who only has ''one'' female character in her entire moveset and Chung, the Naruto cosplayer, who actually goes all out and does a [[GenderSwap Sexy No Jutsu]] attack for one of his attacks.
* [[HeroSecretService Ziro Secret Service]]: To the extent that just about EVERYTHING he does is actually done by his henchmen.
** He even uses one of his henchmen as a meat shield when he blocks.
