* EvenEvilHasStandards: Both the ArchangelGabriel and Satan himself are ''horrified'' by [[spoiler:YHVH]]'s apocalyptic plans. [[spoiler:Satan, in the Law Path, even decides to sign up with you in his role as God's Judge and show the old man ''nobody'' is above his authority to judge... not even '''''God Almighty'''''.]]

* FanDisservice - Satan's true form has what are clearly [[spoiler:six women's breasts on his chest.]]
* FateWorseThanDeath: The UpdatedRerelease of ''VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiIIINocturne'' implies this happens to [[spoiler:the main character]]. What do you expect when you commit ''[[spoiler:deicide]]''?
** [[spoiler: It helps that Aleph looks like Hijiri, minus the mustache.]]

* WhamLine: While the Center was slowly becoming suspect, one line starts shattering everything you were told:

** You can add your own markers onto the map so you can remember important locations to come back to (quest items, magic chests, [[BonusBoss spots where the Fiends can spawn]], etc.), or traps to avoid.

* BonusBoss: Beelzebub returns, with there also being five new Fiends. Two of these Fiends are the {{Breakout Character}}s among the Fiends: Alice and Matador. Also, while he's nowhere near as powerful or interesting as those mentioned before, there's one other plot important one in [[spoiler:Gimmel]].

* {{Deconstruction}}: Of the FiveManBand. All the major characters save for Hiroko were [[spoiler:Artificial Humans]] intended by the Center to fulfill certain roles that are eerily similar to a Five Man Band. The deconstruction is that they're not one group, but instead Unwitting Pawns intended to open the Thousand Year Kingdom.
** TheHero: Aleph, the Messiah who is intended to make way for the Thousand Year Kingdom. [[spoiler:In the end, he will turn on the Center and lead to its downfall by killing Uriel, Raphael, Michael, and the fake YHVH.]]
** TheLancer: Daleth, the DarkMessiah. He is of roughly equal power to Aleph, but the two were intended to be fierce enemies instead of rivals working for the same cause.
** TheBigGuy: Zayin, the strongest of the five meant to act as Aleph's bodyguard. [[spoiler:He ends up being much more important that the Center, as he is actually one half of Satan and was always meant by YHVH to turn on them.]]
** TheSmartGuy: Gimmel, Arcadia's Messiah and the smartest of the five. [[spoiler:Arcadia is a virtual reality with Gimmel, who isn't above murder, at the head. He also knows the most about the Center's actions among the five and, ironically, ends up as the least important.]]
** TheChick: Beth, Aleph's promised partner. [[spoiler:She was conditioned to love Aleph by the Center and ends up being the first of the five to die.]]

* KillEmAll: [[spoiler:YHVH's solution to everything, regardless of your alignment. On Law, not only does this actually happen, but YHVH and Satan die soon after, leaving only Aleph, Hiroko, and Gabriel as the only named characters alive]].

* StarterVillain: Notably, every villain up to and including Daleth qualify since all are separate threats, though Hanada and Daleth are the most important while Haneda is the first.
