* OuijaBoard: The game starts with the Saints playing with a Ouji style board (but never called that), only for Satan to use it to announce the Boss will be marrying his daughter, and then kidnapping the Saint's leader. Turns out that was actually Creator/AleisterCrowley's board taken from Zinyak's collection of human artifacts.

** {{Greed}}: The Diamond Sting, an SMG that fires money, costs a whole lot of money to obtain, and makes enemies explode into money when killed with it.

** [[VillainousGlutton Gluttony]]: Last Supper, a cannon that fires pink sugary goo, attracting other enemies to them as they beat the snot out of them and try to eat them.

* EskimosArentReal: The Launch Trailer claimed that WilliamShakespeare was a fictional character from all those movies about poems and love.

** After [[spoiler:Jezebel allies herself with Johnny and Kinzie to get into Satan's palace]], this cutscene takes place, complete with an image of [[WhoWritesThisCrap a confused-looking Johnny]] sitting at a table in Creator/{{Volition}} offices with a shrugging Jim Boone, the producer of the game.

*** Averted with the cutscenes, where no matter who you play, the dialogue is unchanged, and even still refers to Gat when you played as Kinzie, thanks to the fact that half of the cutscenes are actually FMVs.

* BeeBeeGun: One of the new weapons is the Exodus 10, a submachine gun that shoots a plague of locusts at enemies.

* OldSaveBonus: If you have data of ''Saints Row IV'', the Boss's appearance and voice will be what you used in that game, and is fully voiced as well.
