** Speaking of Final Fantasy, Apsu's main goal (to make time go in reverse) sounds an awful like a neutered form of time compression, which was what a [[FinalFantasyVIII Final Fantasy villain was trying to do]].

''Sailor Moon: Another Story'' is an RPG based ''mostly'' on the ''Manga/SailorMoon'' anime, taking place after the S season. The girls' enemies are the Oppositio Senshi, a team of EvilKnockoff [[ThePsychoRangers psycho rangers]], who are led by the mysterious Apsu. Apsu and the Oppositio Senshi are futzing around with time, resurrecting previous enemies of Sailor Moon. Well, we obviously can't let them get away with that, now can we?

** Oh, and this was also one of the first RPGs to feature special victory poses for each character (as opposed to the "jumping jacks" that RPGs did up to this point), which a LOT of RPGs began to do after.

** It's averted instead in Chapter 4. During the Sailor's visit to the North Pole Kingdom in the past, they discover Queen Beryl as the queen of the kingdom, but she has yet to do her FaceHeelTurn, instead showing signs of sadness and normality. Usagi is visibly upset that she is not allowed to change Beryl's destiny despite showing willingness to do so. [[note]] This wouldn't be the last time a Sailor Moon story line played with this trope for Beryl in an official setting; PrettyGuardianSailorMoon played with the trope being used on Beryl, too.[[/note]]

* AwesomeYetPractical: Sailor Pluto's attack (see GameBreaking in YMMV) and Sailor Mercury's debuffing Shabon Spray.

* FanTranslation: Which is passable, but has several problems with naming conventions, English grammar, and being overly literal (like Venus' MixedMetaphor near the end).
** GratuitousJapanese: Many specific terms are left in romaji, mainly to match the Japanese anime's subtitle.

* NoExportForYou: The game was never released outside of Japan, with the Sailor Moon not becoming popular in the US till after the next console generation, though thanks to a fan translation, many English-speaking players have gotten to experience it anyway.

* ArtifactMook: The game uses as {{Random Encounter}}s monsters that were originally monsters of the week in the show. The monsters in the show were either transformed people or transformed objects, so it doesn't make sense that there would be armies of them.

** Actually, if you want to add the LevelGrinding trope in here, too, you can probably curse or thank this game, depending on how you feel about Blizzard and how they make you grind tirelessly for the rewards in ''WorldofWarcraft'' (where one piece of gear could make all the difference in some raid boss battles).
