This comedic SpinOff of ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters'' centers around a Queen of Fighters tournament organized by [[LetXBeTheUnknown Miss X]], in which the female fighters from {{Creator/SNK}}'s other fighting game series compete to win the K Talisman, which will grant its owner one wish.


A spiritual successor named ''VideoGame/SNKHeroinesTagTeamFrenzy'' was released for UsefulNotes/PS4 and UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch in 2018.

* ShaggyDogStory: [[spoiler:Athena's storyline is this. After winning the tournament, she wishes for her hair to grow long again. Later, she lands another acting role but is asked to cut off her hair, much to her disappointment.]]

A sequel/SpiritualSuccessor entitled ''SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy'' is currently in development. It is scheduled to release Summer 2018 for the UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch and UsefulNotes/PS4, with the later platform seeing a digital-only release. The game is supposedly set following the events of ''King of Fighters XIV'', where several female fighters are sent into a parallel world for unknown purposes.

* CharacterCustomization: ''Tag Team Frenzy'' allows each of the characters to be customized further with three costumes that can be accessorized further and four voice sets.

* FisherKingdom: The parallel world in ''Tag Team Frenzy'' is responsible for the items used during battles and the outrageous alternate costumes they wear. Official artwork makes it seem that the majority of them aren't big fans of anything that isn't their default clothing.
* GenderBender: The only logical conclusion behind trying to insert Terry into an all-girl fighting game is to turn him into one, stated to be the result of the "prank" which dragged him into the same reality as the others. Needless to say, he doesn't enjoy it any more than they do. [[VideoGame/SNKVsCapcomSVCChaos This isn't the first time he became like this!]]

* ImpossiblyTackyClothes: The ''Frenzy'' character artwork shows that the majority of the roster hate or are outright embarrassed by the alternate costumes that they're forced to wear, usually indicated by them blushing, having sweat marks and generally having nervous looks in comparison to the more relaxed expressions they display when in their normal wear.
** A few of them take these a bit beyond in different directions. Zarina seems to try and force herself to enjoy her new clothes, Shermie looks like she's unironically enjoying herself, Leona remains stoic and stone-faced (her render in her cowgirl outfit is her saluting with no shenanigans) and Terry is outright flustered in everything he's forced to wear given the [[ThirdLawOfGenderBending circumstances.]]

* LimitBreak: Akin to ''VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy'', fights in ''Tag Team Frenzy'' can only be finished by one, which are called "Dream Finishes" here.

* ShoutOut: A few of the girls' alternate costumes in ''Frenzy'' are refernces to characters they are associated with:
** Athena has a costume based on the goddess she descended from and her namesake.
** Leona's second alt is based on her father Heidern's military uniform, complete with eyepatch.
** Zarina has her own take on the ninja garb worn by her teammate, Bandeiras Hattori.
** One of Kula's alts is an all-black outfit similar to Angel's.
** Terry's default appearance as a girl (longer hair, his white shirt replaced with a tank top which still exposes his new breasts to an extent, short shorts as opposed to pants) is reminiscent of how he looks like when hit by [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Midnight Bliss]] in ''VideoGame/SNKVsCapcomSVCChaos''. The cheerleader alt he has is colored blue with white stars normally, referencing the cheerleading team of the Dallas Cowboys.
*** Speaking of ''SVC Chaos'', Mai's cow-themed costume here is likely a reference to the fact that she gets [[BalefulPolymorph turned into one]] when she loses a match to Athena (the goddess, not the pop star) in that game.

* TheOneGuy: Under most circumstances, [[spoiler:Iori]] and Terry would absolutely fill these roles given that they're literally the only male characters in their respective games, but they come with caveats which, when compared to each other's, are near inverses:
** [[spoiler:Iori]] willingly crossdresses as Miss X to hold and participate in the Queen of Fighters tournament, but a quick glance at his get-up fails to convince anyone he's a woman.
** Terry is outright transformed into a girl, and [[AttractiveBentGender a pretty-looking one]] at that with no shortage of outfits to make use of his new femininity. The issue here is that he doesn't like it. At all.
** Kukri in ''Tag Team Frenzy'' plays this a lot straighter by being the person who instigates the plot and drags the roster into his parallel world, although this does seem to be a lot out of left field considering what little we know of him.

* UnexpectedCharacter: In ''Tag Team Frenzy'', we have Shermie, who has been long absent in ''KOF'' canon since the Orochi Saga and, unlike the other fighters on the roster, is not playable in ''KOF XIV''.
** The final silhouetted character on the roster render gave the impression that it could have been [[VideoGame/MetalSlug Fio]] due to the cap and ponytail being similar. Nobody could have expected it to be Terry Bogard himself turned into a woman, even more so when his character archetype could have been easily filled by another character like Alice Nakata or Blue Mary(Though probably wouldn't be as funny).
