''Police 911'' is an arcade (later ported to the UsefulNotes/Playstation2), LightGunGame developed and published by Creator/{{Konami}}. It's the first game in the VideoGame/Police911 series. It was released worldwide in arcades in 2000. Later on, it got ported to the [=PS2=] in November 2001 (for Japan) and in April 2002 (EU/Oceania).

Depending on which version of the game you get, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department join forces to take a yakuza group known as the Gokudo-kai, which is in the midst of a deal to arrange for arms to be smuggled to the US/Japan.

Player assume the role of a uniformed officer who's involved in raiding a nightclub being used by the Gokudo-kai. After making arrests, the player flies to LA/Tokyo to assist local law enforcement in arresting the other leaders of the group.

* BoomHeadshot: Bosses are easily taken down when you shoot them in the head. If you're going for speed runs, this tactic is advised just to save time.
* CulturalTranslation: In the Japanese version, you start in Tokyo, then travel to Little Tokyo in Los Angeles. In the US/European version, it's the other way around, in addition to the stages being in a slightly different order.
* CreatorsCultureCarryover: In the US path, you'll find that the LAPD SWAT elements that go with the player hold up ballistic shields despite having tactical gear. This is something Japanese law enforcement does with anti-riot officers go with other officers for support when a situation goes bad and force is needed to resolve it.
* MarketBasedTitle: In Asia, the game's known as ''The Keisatsukan: Shinjuku Ni Juu Yo Ji'' (The Police Officeer: Shinjuku 24 hours). In Europe/Oceania, it's known as ''Police 24/7''.
* MeaningfulName: The game's Japanese name has "Shinjuku 24", in which the players start out in Shinjuku, Tokyo at midnight. "Police 911" and "Police 24/7" are phrases to indicates that police forces can be reached out via 911 (in countries that use the number) or are on duty 24 hours, 7 days a week everyday.
* SWATTeam: In the US path, the LAPD SWAT team gets involved in the raids. However, they're seen carrying ballistic shields with pistols instead of submachine guns or assault rifles.
* TakeCover: Your only means of defense is to use your body (with motion sensor/USB camera for [=PS2=]) in order to hide from bullets and close range attacks.
* WolfPackBoss: One level ends with a dozen standard {{Mooks}} ganging up on you, and it's treated exactly like the normal level-ending bossfight (Which is more of a MultiMookMelee).
