''Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2'' is an ActionAdventure and FightingGame sequel for ''VideoGame/NarutoUltimateNinjaStorm'', released for UsefulNotes/PlayStation3 and UsefulNotes/{{Xbox 360}} and based on the ''[[Franchise/{{Naruto}} Naruto Shippuden]]'' anime, developed by Creator/CyberConnect2. If you want to know what the story is about you should really head over to [[Manga/{{Naruto}} the manga's page]], but the gist of it is that the main character ([[CharacterTitle Naruto]]) is a ninja aspiring to earn the Hokage ("fire shadow") title, or in other words, [[ToBeAMaster become the leader of his village]]. And then it turns out [[SealedInsideAPersonShapedCan there's an malevolent Beast of Mass Destruction inside of him]], friends betray him, shadowy organizations start hunting him -- and all of this before the part of the plot this game deals with.

** Shikamaru. Proper use of him turns any opponent into a figurative ping-pong ball, exploded across the stage and back with little chance of escape. When Shikamaru is mastered, he can easily beat [[GameBreaker game breakers]] like [[SuperMode Sage Mode Naruto, Mangekyo Sharingan Sasuke, and Itachi]].

* GuestFighter: [[VideoGame/{{Tekken}} Lars Alexandersson]], brought about when ''Naruto'' creator Masashi Kishimoto designed a costume for the character to use in the console ports of ''Tekken 6''.

* InterfaceSpoiler:"Hidden Leaf Village ([[spoiler:Destroyed]])" is a selectable stage right from the start. The actual event doesn't occur until the Final Chapter.

* FixFic: The...''thing''...they did with [[FanPreferredCouple Naruto and Hinata]], which was very galling given the circumstances. The manga [[OutOfFocus certainly took its time]] getting back to Hinata's AnguishedDeclarationOfLove, even indirectly; when this game came out the confession had effectively been dangling in the air for years, without us knowing what Naruto thinks of it or even whether he remembers it. The game cut out the part where Hinata actually says "I love you", but included an ExtendedGameplay unlockable feature which declared the two "[[BattleCouple Secret Lovers]]". Wishful thinking? EpilepticTrees? A bit of both? The fact that, at the end of the manga, [[spoiler:they do eventually become a couple, get married and have two children]], along with [[WordOfGod Kishimoto's statements in several post-series interviews]] that he planned on [[spoiler:Naruto/Hinata]] being the main OfficialCouple since the early stages of the manga, plus the fact that [[CreatorPreferredAdaptation he considers the best adaptation of Naruto to be this video game series]], even stating that he thought these games were BetterThanCanon, places this nugget closer to HeartwarmingInHindsight than anything else.
