Made even worse because ''all of these were actual execution methods'' used in the genuine Salem Witch Trials - used in many trials of accused witches in many countries, in fact.

* ArtisticLicenseHistory: Unlike what is stated in the game, in the real Salem witch trials nobody died either by fire or water. Ordeal by water was not used as a test and the only method of execution was hanging.

* BookEnds: Shortly after his death, Ronan fails to reunite with his wife in heaven and then asks a few questions to Abigail which ended when a portal of hell opens. [[spoiler: The game ends in reverse, Ronan again interoggates Abigail and then sends her to hell via the portal she opens. Following this, he heard the voice of his wife, finally being able to cross over and reunites with her]].

Why some ghosts turn into demonic entities is never really explained, and ultimately the game is very short, more like an interactive horror/mystery movie, but proportionately less challenging.

The game follows Ronan O'Connor, who is a cigarette smokin', fedora wearin', HardboiledDetective from Salem, Massachusetts. Oh, and he's brutally murdered in the opening scenes with seven bullets to the chest.

But perhaps because all the other cops in the game seem to be doing about as much investigating as can be facilitated by standing around rubbing their noses, Ronan [[OurGhostsAreDifferent returns as a ghost]] to investigate his own murder, using his new abilites to uncover fresh clues and at the same time revealing some disturbing secrets about the town of Salem and the serial killer he had been investigating in life.

Ronan meets a teenage medium called Joy who's looking for her missing mom, and she comes in really handy for opening drawers, crossing glowing holes into hell that try and suck Ronan down, and cutting down on Ronan's constant musing by about 20%. The rest of the time she's a regular whiny teenager you have to play daddy wolf to and pretend you give a pooper about finding her mom.
