** The song "I Heart Moshlings" is about a Poppet's love for all Moshlings. She could be the same Poppet from the movie as that Poppet likes Moshlings too.
** Players can effectively make their monsters friends to all living things by having them be kind to a Moshling whenever the opportunity comes up.

* VitriolicBestBuds: Sprockett and Hubbs. Moe Yukky and Dewey.

* TropicalIslandAdventure: Anything regarding Music Island, more specifically the '''Gombala Gombala Jungle'''. Furbert Snufflepeeps, Snuffy Hookums, Buster Bumblechops and Elder Furi got lost there and all ended up having something to do with the [[HollywoodNatives Hoodoos]] who are either joked or [[CapturedByCannibals played straight]] to form a [[CannibalTribe threat]]. The elements held by Gombala are a melting pot of cultures and places with the volcano [[EastIndies KrakkaBlowa]], [[HulaAndLuaus the Green Hoodoos]], [[WelcomeToTheCaribbeanMon the limbo]], [[HollywoodVoodoo the "voodoo" practicing]] [[WitchDoctor witch doctors]] and the {{Pirate}}s.

* LongList: In the song "I Heart Moshlings", Poppet lists several Moshlings. * VomitIndiscretionShot: At the end of "The I.G.G.Y. Chomp", I.G.G.Y. throws up rainbows at the screen.

* AlienLunch: Most things eaten in Moshi Monsters is comically strange or disgusting. Not only just monster-versions of our dishes (Mutant Sprout, Roast Beast) but also 'Carton of Sour Milk' (Pulp included!), 'Eye Pie', 'Chocolate Coated Broccoli', 'Quenut Butter Sandwich' and the infamous 'Slop'.

* GrumpyBear: Furis of all 6 Monster species are this.

* NeverSayDie: While the game averts this (with Peppy being described as liking to do "death-defying stunts"), as does the magazine (one issue uses the term "executed"), the movie plays it straight.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: At the beginning of the song "Go Do the Hoodoo", also known as "Big Bad Bill and the Woolly Blue Hoodoos" or "Big Bad Bill is a Woolly Blue Hoodoo", Buster mentions that several of his friends kept disappearing in the jungle. It is never revealed who they are, why they disappeared or if they were ever found.

** Waldo the Tabby Nerdicat. He even has "nerd" in his species name.

* NameTron: The machine which turns Moshlings into Glumps is called the Glump-o-tron [[AdvanceTech2000 3,000]].

* NameTron/AdvancedTech2000: The machine which turns Moshlings into Glumps is called the Glump-o-tron 3,000.

* InsistentAppelation: In "Super Weapon Showdown", Elder Furi calls Dr Strangeglove "Lavender" even after he tells him he doesn't want to be called that.

* SomethingTron: The machine which turns Moshlings into Glumps is called the Glump-o-tron 3,000.

* BlindingBangs: In the song "Moptop Tweenybop", Zack Binspin notes he can't see and his eyes hurt because his hair is too long.

* InexplicablySpeaksFluentAlien: The Zoshlings (Moshlings from another planet) are able to communicate with the monsters.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Baby Rox and Bobbi Singsong look like miniature versions of humans, but they have pink and blue hair respectively. There are also various non-humanlike characters with candy-coloured hair.

''Moshi Monsters'' was [[DefunctOnlineVideoGames shut down]] on December 13th, 2019, for reasons unknown but possibly due to the imminent discontinuation of UsefulNotes/AdobeFlash in 2020. However, there is a fan revival called ''Moshi Monsters Rewritten'' that does not require Flash.

* GhostInvasion: One of the plots involved the ghost of Dr. Strangeglove’s severed hand opening up a portal to another dimension, leading to an influx of ghosts entering the main universe and, among other things, locking [[ScienceHero Tamara]] in her lab.

* NamedAfterTheInjury:
** Octopeg is missing all but two of his tentacles. True to his name, [[SeadogPegLeg the rest of his tentacles are wooden]].
** Handy van Hookz has both his hands replaced with hooks.
** Subverted with Patch the seagull, who wears an eye patch, but it's just for show.

** Dr Strangeglove tried to invoke this by attempting to Glump the Great Moshling Egg and have it hatch a Mega-Glump which would destroy Monstro City. [[spoiler: He fails.]]

* BatmanGambit: [[spoiler: In "Spooktacular Spectacular", Simon Growl "kidnaps" himself, knowing the Super Moshis will save him, and then lie about the whereabouts of the Super Weapon after being saved.]]

** In "Welcome to Jollywood", [[spoiler: your monster, Dr C Fingz and Bobbi [=SingSong=] are locked in a room with a spiky ceiling lowering, when Elder Furi enters and uses his staff to levitate the ceiling.]]
** In "Cosmic Countdown", a Doom Ray is about to melt the snow on Mt. Sillimanjaro with a magnifying glass and the Zoshlings break it at the last minute [[spoiler: by singing.]]

** [[spoiler: In the movie, Mr Snoodle gets knocked off Strangeglove's blimp and falls through the air, but survives because he called for bunch of Tiddly copters to save him.]]

** In "Spooktacular Spectacular", Simon Growl is kidnapped and tied up from the ceiling. [[spoiler: Subverted as it's revealed he did that himself.]]

** The movie focuses on the Great Moshling Egg, an egg that is very ancient and Dr Strangeglove wants to hatch it so he can turn the Moshling into a Mega Glump. [[spoiler: Of course, he fails, and the egg hatches into a Silly Snuffler named Mrs Snoodle.]]
** In "Missing Moshling Egg", the first mission, a Moshling egg gets stolen from Buster Bumblechops's sanctuary and eventually gets saved and hatches into [[spoiler: a Glitzy Boo-Hoo, formerly Lady Goo Goo, now Baby Rox.]]

* EvilGloating: "Missing on a Star" ends with the C.L.O.N.C. leader gloating [[spoiler: about how the Doom Ray will allegedly melt Mt Sillimanjaro and flood Monstro City.]]

* EvilIsDeathlyCold: [[spoiler: Subverted in "Snow Way Out!". It looks like the baddies are building a secret base on a snow-covered mountain, but it turns out to be a diversion.]]

* FusionDance: [[spoiler: In the third part of "Gustbusters", the evil clouds fuse together to make the Mighty Gustavo.]]

* LiarRevealed: [[spoiler: In "Spooktacular Spectacular", Simon Growl claims that C.L.O.N.C. was building a super weapon on Mt. Sillimanjaro. He was right about the super weapon, but in "Snow Way Out!", it's revealed he lied about it being on Sillimanjaro.]]

** In "Moptop Mischief", [[spoiler: Sweet Tooth hypnotises all the people at Zack Binspin's concert.]]
** In another mission, your monster's classmates at a boarding school are hypnotised by [[spoiler: the Headmaster, who is actually a Glump.]]

* NoBodyLeftBehind: [[spoiler: When the Mighty Gustavo is defeated, he evaporates.]]

* PlotTwist: [[spoiler: "Snow Way Out" reveals that Simon Growl is working for Strangeglove.]]

** [[spoiler: Invoked by Sweet Tooth with poisoned candy]] in "Moptop Mischief", when Zack Binspin gets sick. His symptoms seem to be coughing, tiredness, sneezing and leaning forward. He gets better by [[spoiler: eating some sushi.]]

* SpellMyNameWithAThe: All the members of the Keeper family have this (the Gatekeeper, the Hatekeeper, the Datekeeper etc). [[spoiler: Also, when the two evil clouds join together, they make "The Mighty Gustavo".]] There's also the Chick Checker and the Cluekoo.
