** Violence is the means by which tyranny is enforced, and thus violence is the means by which tyranny shall be disassembled.
** Maintaining an ideal society is not a one-time deal. It's a constant duty that needs to be upheld.
** Homeless and impoverished children and their exploitation are a major problem in the world today, and the game makes no effort to mask this.
** War isn't just leaders manipulating the masses, but also culture and society and the values that we as individuals hold as important.
** There are some people and organizations in the world that blatantly violate the moral standards of society, and if they do operate within the law, they will use it as a shield to protect their immoral activities and interests.

** Another possible example is during the final phase of the final boss fight: at certain points during the battle, the Senator's back will glow green, there will be tiny green and bright particles all over the place, and he can heal all the way back to full health if this isn't stopped. The only way to abort this process is to use Blade Mode on his back to target a weak spot.

* DifficultButAwesome: Jetstream Sam takes a lot of time getting used to if you've played with Raiden a lot. Specifically his taunt makes enemies take much more damage but they also deal more and can damage you through parry making a full defensive stance less effective. His charge attacks do damage on par with the Counter Parry and it can be done freely to enemies but the lead in time means you can't do it while directly under attack unlike the Counter Parry. He also can't keep pressuring the enemy by endlessly mashing weak attack like Raiden can thanks to his infinite combo string and the ability to cover distance automatically between slashes if the enemy is too far since Sam only has a 4-hit chain and all of his charged attacks that follow it have their own unique properties that need to be learned to to use them effectively. * AceCustom:
** Each of the Winds of Destruction have customised {{cyborg}} bodies with unique gimmicks, letting them fight Raiden far more effectively than the run-of-the-mill Desperado 'borgs.
** The Metal Gear RAY in the prologue is based on the original model, with upgrades like a [[WaveMotionGun plasma cannon]], cyborg musclefibre instead of the original artificial muscles, and a superheated {{BFS}} stored in one wing. It's somewhat downplayed in that it's not piloted by an exceptional user.

* KilledOffForReal:
** While cyborgs' brains can survive for a while after their bodies are destroyed, allowing for them to be transplanted into a new body, Desperado cyborgs always explode after being fatally damaged. This includes the Winds of Destruction. [[spoiler:Hence why Monsoon and Mistral's body doubles are piloted by a standard UG AI - their minds were lost or their braincases destroyed by Raiden before they could be retrieved.]]
