'''Magic Scroll Tactics''' is a StrategyRPG internationally released on computers by Gamera Games on 27 Apr, 2018, and on UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch at a later date. This game differs from other Tactics-like titles by having battles set entirely in a 2D plane, with height advantages and disadvantages factoring heavily in combat equations.

A century ago, an ancient evil known as the Chaos Magus was sealed by a Priestess of Light on an island at the edge of the known world. However, the seal's power has dwindled over time, and the Magus' immortal followers seek to release their master. Nash, a scout and summoner from the mainland, arrives on the island to evacuate civilians and prepare for the army to deal with the situation. Unfortunately, the situation quickly spirals out of control, and it's now up to Nash to save the world with her summonable allies.

* ArbitraryHeadcountLimit: Nash can only bring five summoned creatures with her into battle, which is outnumbered in nearly every battle. She also cannot summon reinforcements mid-battle.
* FireIceLightning: The three main offensive magic types. Although accuracy and evasion improves with elevation, it's often better for a caster to start low; Fire is cast as an upwards column starting from the caster's current elevation, Ice requires an unblocked path starting from the space above the caster, and Lightning targets an enemy diagonally upwards.
* GuestStarPartyMember: Kako, a young girl that's a descendant of the original Priestess of Light, is only around for the first chapter due to [[spoiler:being slain by the Angel Magus]]. However, [[spoiler:she returns for the finale]].
* HeelFaceTurn: In a New Game+, it's possible to [[spoiler:flee from Levy]] in the final battle against them, which will convince them to join your side.

However, there are some caveats: the skills cost AP to learn, AP is only gotten through level-ups, expensive items, or beating bosses, and a character must remain as the respective class until the skill is mastered.
