The game is heavily rooted in Myth/NorseMythology, featuring many of its settings and characters. It also boasts hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animations and environments. The game was crowdfunded on Website/{{Kickstarter}} and released on PC in September of 2015. An UpdatedRerelease, ''Valhalla Edition'', was released on the PC as well as the Playstation 4, Xbox One and Wii U in Summer 2016.[[note]]Those who already owned the game on PC received ''Valhalla Edition'' as a free download.[[/note]]

However it's not necessary to do this to beat her, and there is an achievement for beating her without knocking her down that precludes this tactic entirely. It can also be considered Inverted or Zig-Zagged: as each pillar releases sparks that damage the player while they're active.
** Downplayed with Isa: He has ice walls that can be launched at him to deal damage at a distance, but unless you're going for an achievement it's not necessary to hit him.

* DefeatEqualsExplosion: All fire giants, Including Kaunan. Fortunately, only the Mook versions deal damage.

* EasyLevelTrick: Jera has a tiny spot next to her left root where all her attacks except for the poison mist miss. Combined with the god powers, you can just ignore the mechanics of the fight and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLt6UV7Q53w beat her to death under a minute.]]

* ParryingBullets: Or "Hammers, A shield the size of a house, and the very spear of Odin" at least.

* RobeAndWizardHat: Odin: Justified in that he was the TropeMaker.

* TacticalSuicideBoss: Downplayed with Fe and Hagalaz, as it's not needed to defeat them.
** Hagalaz can be hit with attacks by her duplicate, stunning her and leaving her vunrable.
** Fe's shield can be hit back at her, and collapsing the pillars late in the fight will result in her being hit by falling debris.
** Averted with Odin. Despite appearances, none of his attacks can be launched back at him.
* TennisBoss: Downplayed with Fe: her shield can be deflected back at her with a charged heavy attack, but it's far from necessary to beat her unless you're going for an achievement.
