* ConstructedWorld: Sort of like ''VideoGame/AceCombat''[='s=] Strangereal-{{verse}}, the countries and geography are different but all the planes are the same. You're flying for the Eastern Democratic Alliance (implied to be something like either United States or NATO; no real explanation is given), and the game takes place on an island divided up between two {{Qurac}}s called North and South Azbaristan.

* ObligatoryWarCrimeScene: Late in the war North Azbaristan drops chemical weapons on South Azbaristani civilians. You're {{railroad|ing}}ed into the SadisticChoice to instead stop the plane trying to do the same thing to the Azbaristani military.

''JASF: Jane's Advanced Strike Fighters'' was a Flight SimulationGame developed by Creator/TrickstarGames and published by Creator/MaximumFamilyGames in October 2011 for PC, {{Xbox 360}}, and PlayStation3.

Unlike the previous games licensed by Creator/JanesInformationGroup under the Jane's Combat Simulations label, the game eschewed realism in favor of RuleOfFun arcade-style gameplay. The result was comparable to the ''Creator/TomClancy's VideoGame/{{HAWX}}'' series.

The game is set in a ConstructedWorld where the player is a jet fighter pilot for the Eastern Democratic Alliance. They're sent to fight in a renewed war on a large island that is divided up like UsefulNotes/{{North|Korea}} and UsefulNotes/SouthKorea between two {{Qurac}}s called North and South Azbaristan.

!!This game provides examples of the following tropes:
* ConstructedWorld: Sort of like ''VideoGame/AceCombat''[='s=] Strangereal-{{verse}}, the countries and geography are different but all the planes are the same.
* ObligatoryWarCrimeScene: Late in the war North Azbaristan drops chemical weapons on South Azbaristani civilians. You're {{railroad|ing}}ed into the SadisticChoice to instead stop the plane trying to do the same thing to the Azbaristani military.
* OldSchoolDogfight: Played with. Most kills tend to come as you close with your target, and the game imitates reality by letting you lock on from multiple kilometers out where you can barely even see the enemy. However, you can still only lock onto targets that are in front of you.
* {{Qurac}}: The warring countries are titled "Phrase-istan", much of the island is scrubby desert, and the mission voice-overs all have vaguely Arabic-sounding accents.
